Stop Yo-Yo Dieting. Get Off The Weight Loss & Dieting Roller Coaster For Good6 Highly Unusual Ways to Finally Get Off the Diet and Weight Loss Roller Coaster

– by Tera Warner

In keeping with this week’s clever criticisms of the weight loss industry, I have a few more things to get off my chest. 😉

Here are 6 surefire ways to get off the dieting and weight loss roller coaster for good.

1. Throw Your Scale Away

Your scale is keeping you fat! No question about it.

There is an undeniable, irrefutable, commonly-known and accepted law of the universe which states that:

“What you put your attention on, expands.”

If you measure your weight, think about your weight, talk about your weight with your friends, wonder if you’ll ever lose weight and wish you had some other woman’s weight, then guess what you’re going to get?

Exactly.
Weight!

So find something else to put your attention on.  ANYTHING else to put your attention on.

2. Stop Trying To “Lose” Weight

If you’ve grasped the universal principle that what you put your attention on expands, then the next law to learn is the one which suggests:

“What you resist, persists.”

Have you ever noticed that the more you try to avoid something, the more likely you are to bump into it?

When you “lose” your keys, your wallet, your purse, your kids in a shopping mall, etc., the immediate response is to find it again!

Stop Yo-Yo Dieting. Get Off The Weight Loss & Dieting Roller Coaster For GoodYou don’t need to “lose” weight. You can release it. And you don’t need to stare at your scale or obsess about the size of your thighs to make it happen. In fact, if you’ve been riding the diet and weight loss roller coaster and haven’t been able to get off yet, then you’re going to need to do something you’ve never done before.

3. Find Something Other To Do Than Lose Those Last 10 Pounds

The fastest way to lose 10 pounds is to find something other to do than lose 10 pounds.  …I’m serious!

Have you ever noticed that the more hyper focused you are on something, the more stressed and concerned and focused you are on something, the harder it is to figure out?

How many great ideas happen when you’re on a walk? In the shower ? Sitting on the toilet?

Sometimes you need to step away from whatever it is you’re trying to address, so you can get some perspective. The more you chase something down, the more likely it is to escape you completely. It’s like a bad date where the person you’re with is just too interested. It’s a total turn off.Stop Yo-Yo Dieting. Get Off The Weight Loss & Dieting Roller Coaster For Good

Keeping yourself in an obsessive, contracted, desperate relationship with the size of your body and your food will only ever keep you riding the ups and downs of a roller coaster ride you can’t seem to make stop.

If you really want to drop those last 10 pounds, the hard-to-believe truth about it is that you’re going to have to find something better to do than worry about it, no matter how much weight you think you have to “lose”.

You can try things like this:

4. Fall in Love, Fly a Kite, Read a Book, Bask in Flowers

Many of us who have struggled with overeating, compulsive eating and weight issues, are looking for love in all the wrong places — like an ice cream bucket! 😉

Remember the last time you were brand new in love?

Food is a rather dense form of sensory stimulation. As much as we’d like to think we eat to nourish ourselves, the truth is it has a lot more to do with stimulation and a sensual experience than anything else.

(This often has a lot to do with why so many women who suffer with eating disorders have a history of sexual abuse or unhealthy sexual relationships.)

You don’t have to go out and find someone to “fall in love” with, you can fall in love with autumn leaves, with a subject that inspires you or even yourself! Just feel the intoxication of a flood of pleasurable emotions and realize that no chocolate-covered cream puff could ever compete with the pleasure and stimulation of a life well lived!

5. Stop Reading Magazines and Turn Off Your TV

I was sitting at the VIP dinner before the Longevity conference recently and started up a conversation with Steve Race, a film producer and director in Los Angeles. I was talking to him about Body Enlightenment and he got very excited and inspired about the plan.

“You’re going up against the big guns,” he said. “Media WANTS women to feel fat, ugly and insecure and spends millions of dollars making it happen. When they feel fat, they buy more diet pills and clothes. When they feel ugly, they’ll buy more beauty care products. When they hate themselves, they’ll spend money on anti-depressants.”

Most women don’t realize the degree to which their crappy feelings are perfectly, artfully, strategically crafted by multi-million dollar advertising campaigns.

Ouch!

6. See Yourself As The Beauty You ARE!

You’ll never, I mean N E V E R get thin as long as you feel fat.

Stop Yo-Yo Dieting. Get Off The Weight Loss & Dieting Roller Coaster For GoodYour delicious curves and beautiful belly rolls are a delectable gift for you and everyone you meet. If you infect your cells with self-loathing thoughts, you only perpetuate a message of stress and toxicity.

There’s nothing beautiful about self-loathing. No person in the world is attracted to a woman who hates herself and invalidates her beauty!

The truth is that any curvaceous and delicious creature who has the courage to love herself and strut her stuff is a head-turning magnet for admiration and attention. You need to start seeing yourself as the beauty you are, and then one day you’ll just look in the mirror and finally love what you see there looking back at you!

(Carol Look will be joining me for a WISH Radio interview on Monday, “Why You’ll Never Get Thin if You Feel Fat”. Stay tuned — this is a paradigm-shifter!)

Women Are Ready For Change…

Imagine a “weight loss” program that doesn’t help you “lose” anything! Instead, it helps you gain things like confidence, supportive friends, more energy, better control over your relationship with food, your body and your life!

Imagine a “weight loss” program that doesn’t talk about the width of your hips, but the depth of your heart and helps you find the courage to finally love yourself in spite of all irrational reasons not to!

Imagine a “weight loss” program that serves up an all-you-can-eat buffet of affirmations and support, instead of low-cal double chocolate brownies!

It’s time to embrace a new model for health and well-being. Self-loathing makes you fat, and no low-calorie sweeteners will ever help you taste the sweetness of life that comes when you finally start loving yourself.
