Sometimes I think of courage as the tough, roll up your sleeves kinda strength it takes to fight “bad guys” and walk home alone at night in the dark. But this week, thanks to you, I’ve seen that courage can be a quiet, committed act of kindness to oneself.

Here’s what I mean…

Tell Me 10 Things You Love About Yourself!

- by Tera Warner

Recently, I did an interview with Carol Look, “Why You’ll Never Get Thin if You Feel Fat.” This was a fabulous interview and loaded with inspiration and kick-butt energy for all those who have ever struggled with carrying excess weight, or just having a poor self-image.

On that call, Carol shared a few helpful ideas I’d like you to take note of:

You could lock a person who has a poor self-image in a room with no food for 30 days, and they would still gain weight. It’s not about food, it’s about energy!

The two most important things you need to do to improve your self-confidence and rewire your body image are: Read more »

Bikinis, g-string, granny gitch and boxes, too! Alisa Vitti and I hooked up yesterday afternoon to celebrate and harness the power of your panties–or at least what’s going on down there and who you are as a powerful force of feminine energy in the world.

You’ve got oceans of emotions and curves that can turn heads on a dime. You hold the power to bring Life into the world between your legs, and so it will serve you well to talk about the food and the attitude that will help you tune in to and turn up the volume on your feminine energy.

Alisa is the founder of www.floliving.com and she’s put together the support, information and tools women need to reclaim the power in their panties! This was a FABULOUS call and here’s a taste of what we covered:

- what is taking your panty power away and how to reclaim it
- THE most empowering way to look out for yourself when dating new partners
- three ways to get libido back after menopause
- a four-step system to help you reclaim your power and feel juicier than ever!

WISH Radio: Dr. Lissa Rankin is Owning Pink and Her White Coat

Written by Tera on June 9, 2011 – -

I’m enthusiastically lining up interviews for WISH Radio and the first one to kick off the adventure is the super-inspiring, ridiculously delicious Dr. Lissa Rankin!

You’re going to LOVE Dr. Lissa Rankin!

lissa rankinIf you caught my last newsletter, then you will already know that Dr. Lissa Rankin of www.owningpink.com is an OB/GYN who had given up her white coat to inspire women in the area of “life coaching”. Her passion for pink, for women’s health, for the idea of “getting out of your own way” is what led her to repeatedly “break up with” her white coat and try to leave her medical practice for life coaching and personal development.

So she told me that for the interview, we could talk about anything EXCEPT for the blessed vagina (her area of professional expertise) and women’s health.

Then suddenly I got an email out of the blue and she had done a complete 180.

I called her up to find out what the scoop was. She said in spite of her countless attempts to abandon the field of medicine ,something had happened and she had no choice but to pick up her white coat and dive into some serious medical research. The results were so mind boggling, so intensely life-changing that she felt compelled to pick up her coat again.

Join me on Wednesday, June 22nd, when I share with you the complete interview where she shares what happened, what she discovered, and what those discoveries mean for you, your health, and the health of your loved one.

This interview will be available on Wednesday, June 22nd at 8pm Eastern.

If you have any questions you’d like me to ask Lissa, please take a moment to visit her site, get to know a bit about her amazing work, then leave your questions here for me and I’ll do my best to address them during our call! This call will change the way you think about your health! (But just in case you do have other plans and will not be able to make it, the call will remain available for a while, so no worries)

Here’s a bit more about Lissa! You’re going to LOVE this call!

Lissa Rankin refuses to be put in any one box, and in that simple fact, she attracts readers, patients, healers, coaching clients, writers, artists, collectors, and admirers around the world.  By refusing to stand on a pedestal, wear a white coat, and portray herself as anything more than a regular woman who just happens to have twelve years of education and a decade of experience as a doctor under her belt, she differentiates herself from many others who are trying to be “experts” without being transparent about who they really are and revealing their true humanity. Her message and her example are redefining what it means to be healthy, vibrant, authentic, and alive as a woman in the 21st century.

Lissa is a Pink Medicine Woman Coach who practiced as an OB/GYN physician for ten years, a public speaker and teacher, author of the books What’s Up Down There? Questions You’d Only Ask Your Gynecologist If She Was Your Best Friend, and Encaustic Art: The Complete Guide To Creating Fine Art With Wax, founder of the online community OwningPink.com, a professional artist, a workshop leader, and a Mom. Lissa started a simple blog in 2009 to document her personal quest to integrate all the fragmented facets of her being that made her whole. OwningPink.com immediately caught fire with readers from all walks of life who were seeking their authentic selves and saw in Lissa a transparent, growing soul and kindred spirit. OwningPink.com has grown strongly and steadily in its first two years and now hosts more than 30 authors, coaches, and healers, spawning a community of over 70,000 social media followers and over 500,000 readers.

Dr. Fuhrman Shares the Most Important Foods to Keep in Your Diet

Written by Tera on March 5, 2011 – -

This is another sneak peek interview for our upcoming WISH Summi: Women’s International Summit for Health. To acces this interview and all 39 others, simply sign up here, sit back and enjoy the adventure starting on March 8th.

In a world where rates of cancer, obesity, diabetes, heart disease arthritis and other ills are plaguing our planet, women now have a choice. To pop a pill and follow the standard food pyramids, or start asking a few more questions about the food we’re putting on our plates.

But in the field of health and nutrition, where everyone seems to be contradicting each other, to whom do we ask these questions?

Let’s start with Dr. Joel Fuhrman –he’s one of the world’s leading health and nutrition experts and he’s helping millions of people regain their health, and reverse disease. There is a way to overcome illness, reverse disease, lose weight and regain our health and vibrant living and it starts here. With learning how to eat, and eating to live.

What are the main principles of the “Nutritarian” lifestyle?

In addition to weight loss, how does following the Nutritarian eating style repair and protect the body (affecting longevity and cancer risk)?

Americans have become so accustomed to processed, easily accessible foods, which leads to what you call “toxic hunger.” What is toxic hunger and how does it wreak its havoc?

How can people be motivated to eat more whole, nutrient-dense food and what are some first steps to changing their diet and sidestepping the temptation of junk foods?

What kind of results have you witnessed when people embrace the Nutritarian diet-style?

Your food pyramid varies drastically from the USDA food pyramid. How could a government-recommended pyramid be so off-base?

Do you have any tips on how to make this way of eating easier and cost and time effective?

Can you share some of your family’s favorite recipes?

What are the 5 most important foods women should be including in their diet?

To access this and all interviews, sign up here for WISH. As one of the country’s leading experts on nutrition and natural healing, Dr. Joel Fuhrman, M.D. has appeared on hundreds of radio and television shows including: ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, Today, Good Morning America, the Discovery Channel, TV Food Network, CNBC and many more. He was recently invited to speak at the World Preservation Conference at the House of Parliament about his accomplishments in demonstrating the power of a micronutrient-rich, plant-based diet to prevent and reverse disease, relieving the burden of dietary-related chronic disease overwhelming the modern world.

Dr. Fuhrman is a renowned speaker and author. His work has been acclaimed as “a medical breakthrough for weight loss, disease reversal and prevention”. His signature book Eat To Live: The Revolutionary Plan for Fast and Sustained Weight Loss, spawned multiple foreign editions and over 20 re-printings.

Whole Foods Market, Inc., a leader in natural and organic foods, selected Dr. Fuhrman as a partner to create their Health Starts Here initiative, a program geared toward promoting the health of Whole Foods team members and customers. Dr. Fuhrman provides nutritional guidance via week long immersion programs and in-store lectures. His books, supplements and food products are featured in stores. In-store signage also focuses on education about nutrient-dense foods through Dr. Fuhrman’s Aggregate Nutrient Density Index, or ANDI scores, including how to prepare and incorporate these foods into everyday life.

Mike Adams Helps the Women of WISH Take Their Health Back in Their Own Hands

Written by Tera on March 1, 2011 – -

I remember clearly the first time I had a crush on someone. It was my ski instructor and I was probably just barely old enough to walk. I remember looking up at him, 3 times my height, and just thinking and feeling, “WOW! He’s sooooo amazing!”

That’s how I feel about Mike Adams.

His mission is “to protect life,” and he does it with with such determination and commitment that I have rarely felt as much admiration for a single person as I do for him. It’s also because he has the guts to go up against the big guns and demand change in the name of preserving the well-being of all people, and of all life. Spending this time with him was a privilege and an honor, and lucky for us, I got him on record saying he’d love to do it again!! So we’re in luck, Ladies! After this call if you’ve got questions, let’s book ‘em for a come back and get it all on the line!!

To listen to this interview, make sure to sign up for the WISH Summit event starting on March 8.

Here’s a sense of what our call was all about:

Pretty pink ribbons are plastered on everything from make up kits, tissue boxes, cameras, and buckets of deep fried chicken. And this is the signature of our investment in women’s health.

So in a world where pretty pink ribbons are promoted more heavily than fresh, organic parsley, someone is going to have to step up to the plate and do something about. Someone is going to need the courage to dig, to insist and to persist in the name of the rights of women, men and children so that they may have the health and freedom they deserve.

Mike Adams is the Health Ranger and he’s been be roaming a forest of fraud finding solutions and fighting for your freedom. It’s time put down the pink ribbons, pull out your parsley sprigs because he’s joined our WISH Summit to teach you what you need to know so you can stand up, be heard and take ownership for your health and freedom and the health and freedom of generations to come.

I loved the first question I asked him, but I’m not going to tell you what it is.

You have your finger on the pulse of so much, that it’s almost intimidating for us looking from the outside in. When someone is new to your site and resources, new to the idea of looking deeper to find answers and alternatives… where should they start? Read more »

WISH Wear: Something Special to Remember Your WISH

Written by Tera on March 24, 2010 – -

As promised, we will be featuring three women whose work has inspired us and who we have invited to become a part of this project with us.

Meet Joanna Szkiela:

She’s the founder of www.gotoredsofa.com. Before I met her, I met her jewellry and fell in love. When I ran into Joanna at a local art fair, then I bought Christmas presents for all the women in my life. You can check out her site and you’ll see some what I’m talking about.

At the art fair last winter, I told Joanna about WISH and asked if she’d be interested in doing a special piece for our ladies. Something to anchor and inspire them throughout the year. I was honored and delighted when she agreed to do it. About a week ago, Joanna came by to bring me the first finished piece, and I haven’t taken it off since.

I love it. I love wearing it. I love knowing what it stands for, and I love all the compliments I get from people who see it on me and wonder what it’s all about.

Here’s a little explanation about the pieces and their significance. This is our “official” WISH necklace:

This necklace is inspired by the idea of making our dreams come true–in essence, the whole underlying message of WISH! We’re trying to inspire women to rekindle the wishes they had when they were young and help them find the inspiration to make it all happen.

This necklace has 3 charms:

The Root.

Every dream takes root (is grounded) in our past experience and draws its strength from who we are. It is nourished by  our aspirations for something better and grows from there. The first element of this piece is the root/branch which symbolizes those first beginnings of the dreams we have held and do continue to hold.

The Dandelion.

The dandelion element symbolizes the desire to make the dream true – as we make a wish and blow. I still take dandelion seedlings and blow them into the wind, but some years ago, I must have just let go of the element of making a wish while doing it. This element of the piece takes the wish and blows it out into the wind where it multiplies. Think of all the seedlings in that dandelion.

The Honeycomb.

The honeycomb made by the hardworking bee symbolizes commitment and perseverance. The bee is known for its hard work and this little piece of honeycomb represents the idea that we do need to work at our dreams to make them real – then, just like the dedicated honeybee, we too can transform the mundane into the marvelous and make our dreams come true.

There’s another picture of this piece on someone’s hand so you can see the size. It falls perfectly on the chest. I took a couple pictures of it on me, but the lighting wasn’t great and I feel it just doesn’t do the piece justice. We’ve made this piece available for you to order, and I’m putting a personal guarantee on this one.

If you order the piece and you do not like it, just send it back and we’ll refund your money no questions asked. Honestly, I’ll buy it back! This piece was made with so much love and has been designed to take the wisdom of this entire event and capture it in a symbolic and artistically stunning piece of jewelry that you can keep with you as a constant reminder of all you’ve learned during WISH and as a reminder to you to live your dreams and persist in making them come true. As soon as you feel all the love that has gone into it, I know you’ll never want to take it off!

You can order this piece of jewelry here.

Part of the reason Joanna was willing to invest in this project is because she took a huge leap of faith in order to make it happen. She left the corporate world to pursue her dreams and now Red Sofa is how she engages fully in living her passion. We wanted to choose three women and highlight the work they do as an inspiration to all of us to live our dreams and pursue our passions.

We really hope you’ll support Joanna and get yourself this incredible gift. Just so you know, with all three of the women we’ll be featuring as part of this project, we will not be making a profit by promoting their work. All the money goes to the artist directly or is the cost of production and delivery.
