Rebecca Johnson is a passionate practitioner of EFT and other energy healing techniques. She was also a participant of the Body Enlightenment program in 2011. Her participation in BE launched her on an amazing journey that landed her right on Tera Warner’s front porch! Here’s how it happened…
Something Had to Give
Last year in June, I decided to do a series of three 90-day challenges. I figured if it takes 9 months to create a life, it would take at least that to recreate mine.
Many things including the frightening balance of my bank account, too many late night trips for hot fudge sundaes and fries, processed food staring back at me from my fridge and cupboards, a very dusty mini-tramp, a lonely flat-tired road bike, zero ability to muster up any love for my muffin top, general grumpiness, low energy, unflossed teeth, and the fact that I wore my yoga pants so many days in a row the butt was wearing out, were all strong indicators that something had to give. “I am not a health nut.” A Personal Transformation Story by Alissa Geurink
Written by Danielle on January 27, 2012 – -
I Am Not a Health Nut
- by Alissa Geurink, Director of Women’s Wellness University
I am not a health nut. I do not preach to others how they should eat, act, or speak. Everyone makes choices based on their unique situation. No one knows what each person’s unique situation is except that individual. But when something so amazing happens to me – I tend to tell everyone. Even if it is so personal that it falls into the TMI arena.
In December I had my blood pressure checked. I was actually surprised at how high it was. It was 130/90.
I started playing the blame game – Was I stressed out that day, what did I eat, what did I do or did not do? Looking back it was always something I could point my finger at and say… if only I did this differently, or if I did this I would change that.

Making Healthy Choices Easy on the Road

Making Healthy Choices Easy on the Road
- by Caroline Cain
A couple of months ago my boyfriend and a group of colleagues went off to Cologne, Germany, to represent their company at an international trade fair for a week. Here’s how Dominic kept up his healthy eating habits whilst staying in a hotel:
I knew that it was going to be hectic and – though business-wise perfectly organized – that the catering would most likely not be on the priority list. I was not wrong: our daily lunch ‘ration’ consisted of a packaged salad with heavily processed ham and cheese and a good old German pretzel (‘old’ – dry and rock solid). I had a pretzel as I used to love them back in the days (alas, refined flour and other foods just don’t taste as they used to now that I eat a 100% organic, fresh and whole foods diet), but the salad put me off before even touching it. Luckily I came prepared!

Revelations of a 60-Year Old Father on Green Smoothies
- by Harold Warner
I am sixty.
Depending on which side of that number you are then that may or may not seem old to you.
To me it is getting older, though I want to believe it is still young in a relative sense.

Who’s Your Daddy?! One Pa’s Green Smoothie Success Story

Who’s Your Daddy?! One Pa’s Green Smoothie Success Story
- by Caroline Cain
Back in April of 2011, my father had started asking me for nutrition advice as he had developed a dust mite allergy where his entire face would swell up so much that he could hardly breathe. When this happened at night he would either have to sleep sitting up until he could go to the doctor’s the next morning, or he would have to go to hospital and be given steroids to bring the swelling down so that he could breathe.
Now, my father is not in for major dietary changes, didn’t want to cut out all the so-called “good things in life”, and definitely ain’t no cook! He likes gadgets. Gadgets and no cooking. So, this was a no-brainer for me!

Raw Food Health and Balance with Caroline Cain
Written by Rachelle Fordyce on December 15, 2011 – -Raw Food Health and Balance with Caroline Cain
- Q&A with Caroline Cain, Reflexologist BA, BSoR
After practicing Reflexology for a couple of years, reflexologist Caroline Cain realized that she needed another tool to really be able to help clients bring their bodies back into balance.
The chemical balance in our bodies is hugely affected by the fuel we give our ‘body machine’ – the food we eat and how it is processed by the body – which affects both physical and emotional health.
Currently studying Nutritional Therapy and Naturopathic techniques so that she can offer a more complete set of tools for you to find harmony in body mind and spirit, Caroline shares with us an intimate Q&A on her own personal journey to raw health.
It is Caroline’s hope, as well as ours, that her raw journey will benefit and inspire your own journey to greater, greener health!
As Caroline herself would say, “But oh my how things get better as they get greener!”

An Exclusive Interview With David Wolfe
- by Tera Warner
Most of you know the poncho-wearing pioneer for health, David Wolfe. His curly hair and enthusiasm are hard to miss, and his efforts to bring an evolving health and nutritional paradigm to the world have touched the lives of millions of people.
You’ve seen him sing the praises of chocolate, goji berries and superfoods.
He’s all about beets these days, and potent Chinese rejuvenation tonics.
You’ve probably heard of him venturing to far off places, hosting events, retreats and excursions.
But who, pray tell, is the man behind the maca?

Eating Cooked Foods to Try and Heal…?
Written by Christie on November 1, 2011 – -
How I Went from Cooked to Raw to Cooked… and Back to Raw.
- by Christie Fischer
I began following a vegetarian diet about 13 years ago, whilst still eating seafood. A few years later the seafood got ditched. A couple of years after that I began the vegan thing (whilst traveling through Italy of all places). It was then a few years until I stumbled across the raw food vibe, and to be honest I can’t remember how but I do remember that instantly it felt right. I knew it was my next step in terms of my diet.
I did my research and readings, asked questions and sought answers. Then met my current partner who had been eating raw for 4 years, and I remember calling my mum and excitedly yelling, “oh my god mum I’ve just met the coolest guy ever and we have so much in common and he even drinks green smoothies!!” – at the time no-one I knew was vegetarian or vegan, let alone dabbling into raw foods!

Tell Me 10 Things You Love About Yourself!
- by Tera Warner
Recently, I did an interview with Carol Look, “Why You’ll Never Get Thin if You Feel Fat.” This was a fabulous interview and loaded with inspiration and kick-butt energy for all those who have ever struggled with carrying excess weight, or just having a poor self-image.
On that call, Carol shared a few helpful ideas I’d like you to take note of:
You could lock a person who has a poor self-image in a room with no food for 30 days, and they would still gain weight. It’s not about food, it’s about energy!
The two most important things you need to do to improve your self-confidence and rewire your body image are: Read more »
