~ by Kristen Hayton

After eating a $7.00 bag of Kale chips the other day, I decided to experiment with dehydrating my own.

Kale has many benefits. Kale contains dietary fiber, which promotes regular digestion, prevents constipation, lowers blood sugar and curbs overeating. Kale is high in antioxidants, has anti-inflammatory properties, and contains vitamin K, C, and A.

This recipe contains a paste to coat the kale to add flavor and other health benefits.

After a few tries, I came up with this recipe that even my teenagers will eat!

Whether you’re following an all-raw diet, want to eat more greens or simply want to have better snack choices, here is a great recipe that won’t break the bank.  It is also super easy and quick to make.

Healthy Kale Snacks

The paste recipe below contains hemp, cashews, and garlic, among other healthy ingredients.

Hemp is high in protein and contains all nine of the essential amino acids. It also has high amounts of fatty acids and fiber as well as containing vitamin E, trace minerals, and a balanced ratio of omega 3 and 6 fats.

Cashews are rich in iron, phosphorus, selenium, magnesium and zinc. They are also good sources of phytochemicals, antioxidants, and protein.

Garlic has many healing properties and is often known as nature’s “wonder drug”.
