How I Put Holy Back in Holiday

by Tera Warner

Holy Macaroni! I can’t believe January is almost over!!

I’ve just come out of my holiday hibernation of almost three weeks exclusively dedicated to family time, good night sleeps, simple healthy meals and lots of time snuggled up next to my spiritual husband.

I didn’t overeat, overplan, overspend or overestimate what I could take on. I didn’t race around to stuff my face at big family gatherings or fuss in the kitchen for anything more than a few simple, healthy meals.

When the rush and fuss of the season really started to hit, I went to sit with myself, my loved ones and rather than exchange a bunch of presents we decided to BE present with one another.

I can’t make sense of everything they tell me in the news most days. I don’t have answers for all the world’s economic, political, social and environmental problems.

But I know one thing:

In the hustle, bustle and busyness that comes with the “business” of living,

most people have forgotten how to simply live.

You want to know the value of your self-worth? Count the number of lives you’ve stopped to take the time to care about. Nothing you collect in banks, no amount of books on shelves will ever compare to the wealth you feel in your heart when you know you’ve done something to lift even one person’s life up out of the mud.

Don’t measure your beauty in pounds or inches of pinchable flesh! Count the number of smiles you get when people see you in the street, or catch your eye as you walk by them.

In the race to chance the dollar and have more stuff, we got very busy talking the talk and walking the walk, but forgot…

…to simply stop…

…and be.

🙂

May 2015 be the year you remember who you are, how much you have to give and that the greatest thing you will ever do is simply stop once in a while, and do what it takes to restore your belief in you.

Love and best wishes for your 2015!

Thank you for being here to make mine so rewarding and fulfilling.

p.s.

If you struggle to find stillness in the race of daily living, check this out. My dear friend Tom Cronin has touched and improved the lives of people all over the world with this very simple, personalized and effective approach to finding stillness.

You can learn how to meditate without numb legs, shaved heads or deep dark caves.

The only way to making lasting lifestyle change is when you know how to bring a presence of mind and attention to every moment in your life. I’ve never met a better person to show you how to do make that happen.

be. How we’re simplifying in 2015…
