Tamanu Oil Nourishes The Skin – And An Easy DIY Body Butter Recipe!

Next up in our list of beautifying botanicals is Tamanu Oil. We’ve included Tamanu oil in our Skin Renewal Solution. Keep reading to find out why we love this oil!
Tamanu Oil – All Around Skin Healer
Tamanu oil is extracted from the seeds of the Calophyllum inophyllum tree – native to East Africa and some regions of India and Australia. It is extracted using a ‘cold expeller pressed’ method.
Why Do We Love Tamanu Oil?

DIY Whipped Coconut And Tamanu Oil Body Butter
Ingredients:
1 c. coconut oil
1.5 t. tamanu oil
3-5 drops of lavender essential oil (or your favorite EO)
Directions:
Combine all ingredients in a medium sized mixing bowl. With a hand blender (or an immersion blender), whip at low-medium speed for 5 minutes, stopping every minute or so to scrape down the bowl with a spatula. Whip until the mixture becomes light and fluffy. Transfer into a jar. If making this in the summer, store in the fridge to keep coconut oil from melting.
***Note*** If using a citrus essential oil for this recipe, make sure you stay out of the sun for up to 12 hours after using this butter as these oils can cause your skin to be more sensitive to the sun.
