This Relative Of The Onion Could Be Considered “The Broke Man’s Natural Healer”

by Shelley Wade

Broke? Want to heal yourself and your family? There is a miracle plant out there that is not only cheap, easy to grow, but it heals your body of many ailments. Heck it can even prevent them from happening in the first place!

Like many of you out there, I love learning about all the various ways of healing yourself. Sadly I am a very broke momma most of the time. It makes me feel terrible to have the knowledge on how to cure myself and family, but the lack of funds makes it impossible. Late one night surfing the net I found it! The illusive healing food that practically everyone can obtain. Garlic, the poor man’s “cure all drug”.

What is Garlic?garlic250x200

Garlic contains highly effective and natural antimicrobial, anti-fungal, antiviral, and antibiotic properties that have the ability to not only rid your body of many dis-eases of the body, but garlic can in many cases prevent them from happening in the first place. This miracle plant is also very high in antioxidants, which destroy free radicals and support a strong and healthy immune system. Allicin, one of the main ingredients in garlic, is the secret to its many healing properties:

  • Speeds of the healing process of many ailments, such as colds, flu, and even the plague.
  • Boost baby weight during pregnancy
  • Heart health
  • Lowering LDL cholesterol
  • Reducing blood stickiness
  • Highly effective against 2 difficult bacteria strains Staphylococcus and Enterococci
  • Reducing risk of cancer
  • Immune booster
  • Treating High Blood Pressure

More about Garlic:

This common kitchen and garden staple has been used for ages as nature’s antibiotic. Back in the 1700’s when dis-eases like the bubonic plague ran rampant, the gravediggers often drank wine infused with crushed garlic or just ate it raw in an effort to help ward off the plague. The many benefits of garlic is almost as many that coconut oil contains. Scientists are still discovering the many things that Garlic can help with. The benefits range from culinary, health, beauty, and even in your garden.

You can find garlic cloves at most grocery stores, quite a few carry organic, and farmers markets. It is also very easy to grow in just about anything from ground to various containers.

Caution: Pregnant women should not take more than 1 clove of garlic medicinally per day, and children often resist this remedy.  Garlic can thin the blood, so if you’re taking it daily in any form, contact your natural health practitioner if you also take prescription blood thinners. Consult your physician before taking any herbs and or supplements.

Stay tuned for Part 2 of the “The Broke Man’s Natural Healer” as I share more ideas on how to make garlic work for you – in the kitchen and the garden!  Plus a delicious recipe!
