Dream Building New Zealand Style!

by Tera Warner

Preparing for Take Off…

I’m sitting at the airport in Vancouver, waiting to board a flight to New Zealand. It was only the other day I was dreaming and scheming with Alison about how we could make this happen. Now we have an incredible group of women booked and ready to rock up to a gorgeous beach location to give themselves the gift of a lifetime. And as I was flying to Vancouver, looking over the mountains from high in the heavens, I thought about how amazing it is–that you can make dreams come true.

It might seem a long time ago, but do you remember being so young you didn’t care what other people thought about the likelihood of your dreams coming true? Before parents told you that you couldn’t, teachers said you shouldn’t and chubby-fingered aunts and uncles told you “that’s just not the way it is” you dared to believe in the possibility of even the wildest things coming true.

I wonder….

How much dreaming do you do?

Dreams Are What Keep You Alive!

dare-to-dream-in-the-sand272x260 No matter where you are, when you stop to think of where you’re going and the obstacles to climb before you get there, life can be daunting. You might start to give in a little and listen to the whispers in the back of your mind–the ones that tell you how unlikely, improbable and unrealistic you’re being.

If that happens often enough, for long enough, colors lose their lustre and life gets a bit harder. The uphills feel steep and the downhills don’t last as long as you’d like them to. No matter how many years you’ve logged in the game of living, when that happens, a slow leak starts to develop in your spiritual boat.

It might not turn out exactly like you imagined. It might not be easy or predictable or even comfortable sometimes to keep dreaming in spite of the odds against you, but the day you let your dreams slip or stop holding hope like a roaring fire in the seat of your soul, is the day you start to die a little inside.

So let’s throw open the shutters and shine a bit of light in there, shall we? You don’t need to tie yourself down to the disillusioned whispers of the people who have been there, done that and already know better.

The one voice you need to hear…

The one voice that matters most…

…is yours. 🙂

Choose smart. Chin up. Dream! Believe! Hope! Who cares how it all turns out in the end? What matters most is how you live while you’re still alive! So get back to the business of being whoever you want to be, hoping in the wildest things and daring to dream no matter what the peanut gallery proclaims along the way!

Love and fearlessness,
