Alkaline Beauties

This recipe makes 16 ounces of juice, so adjust accordingly

Ingredients:

  • 2 large handfuls of spinach (large leaves juice better)
  • 12 ribs of celery
  • 1 medium, peeled lime
  • 1 bunch mint
  • 1 bunch parsley
  • 2 large, green zucchini

Juicing note:

Start juicing the spinach; then add celery; next, parsley and mint; and finish with zucchini and lime.

Personal note:

We love adding lime to everything, but in this juice, a little goes a long way! Fresh mint can often be found growing locally near a stream or pond and can save you money on your juicing budget! Also, you could substitute cucumber for the zucchini with great results.

Benefits to the body:

Alkaline foods help balance the body’s pH.  The fact that it is delicious is an added benefit! Individuals previously following the Standard American Diet will find this juice to be especially beneficial. Animal foods, processed foods, and foods high in sugars create an acidic environment in the body. This juice will help you to achieve more balance.
