What I Saw in the Belly of the Forest

What I Saw in the Belly of the Forest

By Tera Warner

Last night my dear friend Bernard came over to help me with the dog, the kids, the supper, the house and he even tucked in the munchkins so I could get a few important things done.

Yesterday I finally got the opportunity to speak up close and personal with the King of the Cosmos himself, Mike Dooley. It was worth the wait! We recorded an amazing interview that will be shared during our WISH Summit in March of 2013.

Since the house was empty (no kids, no dog) I took the opportunity to head to my favorite forest trail and go for a run. As predicted and as usual, it was AMAZING!!

Change Is In The Air

Unlike running in a gym or around the block, the forest is ALIVE! Every single time you go it will look completely different. In my neck of the woods, the leaves are almost completely gone already. Most years, that fact would leave a lump in my throat and a nervous sort of trepidation would move in about the coming cold season.

I LOVE sun. I LOVE warmth. I LOVE heat and bare skinned bodies basking in sunlight.

Now as we start to put on more layers, the forest takes off hers. Yesterday as I looked out over my favorite bare-branched forest, I noticed something I had never seen before. When the forest was lush and filled with leaves, I saw green–new sprouts , fresh growth, wild flowers and roots and shoots and seeds and weeds.

Now they are gone and bare-chested branches extend a silent invitation to look beyond the surface and peer into the belly of the forest! I saw the most amazing rocks and cliffs and nooks and crannies I would never have seen when life was bursting in a hundred shades of green. I was completely enchanted by the silence and clarity and simplicity I felt in my maple and cedar-filled oasis.

Clarity. Simplicity. Change.

This time of clearing out and moving on is the perfect time to make peace with your favorite spaces. To let go of the excess and prepare for the change of season. I can’t make bare your branches and peel away your layers of green, but I can extend an invitation to join us on November 4th when hundreds of health-seeking heroines will come together to create a clutter-free oasis in their homes.

The season of change is here so tap into it and join us for our latest Body Enlightenment program: Be Clean: 30 Days to Clean & Green Your Home!
