What to Do When You Know Too Much for Your Own Good

– by Tera Warner

This is the letter that I sent out in a newsletter on March 30th. Just in case you missed it, I’m posting it here for your perusal as it is the Part 1 of a 2-Part saga. 😉

Knowledge is Power, But It’s Something Else Too.

Lovebeam,

I read an idea once that saved my life. This idea has influenced everything I do – how I think, how I love and how I look out at the world. I’ll tell you what that is in a moment, but first, I’d like to share a little story…

Last night I went on a date. With my hottie little redheaded self! 😉

I snuggled in on the couch, made myself some movie snacks and a pot  of herbal “tea” then nestled in to watch the latest online movie phenomenon, Hungry for Change. I thought I’d heard it all already, but some things you just can’t hear too often.

I felt re-inspired, motivated to make a few more little positive changes. A bit more sleep, a bit less work at the computer, a lot more green juice. This morning I started my day feeling re-ignited. I was glowing. I couldn’t stop smiling. With a litre of cucumber, celery, parsley and pineapple juice tucked in my purse, I was ready to take on the day.

About the Only Thing I Would Eat Was My Lip Gloss

My first stop was a little café where I had to wait while my mechanic did a tune up on my car. It was a warm, friendly place – the kind of vibe you might expect living out here in the sticks. I settled into a sunny spot to get some work done.

I glanced at the menu to realize the only thing in that place I’d consider eating was my lip gloss! Looking around from my cozy corner, the life expectancy of a few of the people in the room made my forehead crinkle with concern. I took mental note of the varying degrees of health and apparent happiness, and then had the brief consideration that I “knew too much for my own good.”

I could intellectually dissect the plates, pimples and personality types of everyone sitting in the room. I knew what was behind their aches and pains and inflammation. I knew who was angry, bored, apathetic, repressed, constipated and optimistic. I knew who smoked, who didn’t, and thanks to my recent interview with Jean Haner, I even knew who had issues with their fathers!

When Self-Righteousness Becomes Personal Responsibility

In the past I might have dared to let a sneaky sense of self-righteousness pervade my spirit, but today was different. The only thing I could ask myself as I looked out at the world from my sunny café table in the sticks was, “Well, Tera… what are you gonna do about it?”

If you’re here, chances are pretty good you know a thing or two about health and well-being. Like me, you may choose not to apply everything you know all the time, but you know it. You know information that can completely transform your health and well-being, and the health and well-being of the lives around you.

But what are you doing with it?

Sometimes our own youthful glow and healthy elimination patterns aren’t motivation enough for us to get up and make a green juice every morning, so consider this:

You are sitting at the heartbeat of a sphere of influence of unlimited potential. What if the reason to get up in the morning and make that litre of green juice isn’t just for your benefit – it’s for the benefit of every set of eyes in the world that looks up to you for answers and a way out of their pain, pimples and chronic ills?

When you know too much for your own good, maybe it’s because you’re supposed to be using it for the good of others, too!

Sure, knowledge is power, but the degree of power will only ever be determined by your willingness to take responsibility for it. Knowledge, without responsibility, is a dusty bookshelf.

I still want to share with you the quote that saved my life, but this is getting a bit long and I know you’ve got things to do. So here’s the deal. I’m gonna walk my dog, then settle in and share that quote and a few more thoughts I’ve got brewing in my noggin’ on the blog.

You chew on this for a while, and when that blog post is ready, I’ll let you know.

Love and green juice,
Tera

p.s.

Please take a moment to let me know what you think of this little letter. Part 2 is coming very soon and I’ve got a rumblin’ within me and if you’re ready for it, I’ll let ‘er ROAR!!! 😉
