The Secret to Hollywood Skin?

Flushing out toxins.

As we first mentioned in Skin Health & Food, the efficiency of your liver, colon and kidneys can show up in the health of your skin.

Whenever any of these organs are not functioning well you can bet it will show up in some way on the skin.

If you are not releasing old, ahem…stuff each day the toxic load can build up so much that literally eruptions in the skin represent that waste trying to be eliminated.

Here are the 4 Steps to Hollywood Skin

Step #1: Eat Fibre

Food for skin healthFiber in many and varied forms including salads and green smoothies are key.

Next, the liver also needs to be functioning well. If a person consumes, say, lots of sugar or fried foods this decreases the optimal functioning of the liver.

This may mean that hormones like estrogen do not get metabolized properly and eliminated from the body as they need to be on a regular basis. This could then result in a hormonal imbalance, and voila you have a lovely outbreak of acne.

Step #2: Drink Vegetable Juice & Water

Food for skin healthDrink any combination of:

  • carrot
  • beet
  • spinach
  • kale
  • parsley juice

several times a week. These vegetables help to enhance the functioning of your liver.

Food for skin healthWater, water all around, yet not a drop do you drink! I only say this because so many women I consult with respond to the question “How much water do you drink each day?” with the answer “Not enough!”.

Think of a simple commitment to daily adequate hydration to one of the most effective beauty practices you could do.

Proper hydration allows the kidneys to eliminate waste.

Otherwise, this waste begins to fill up the space between your cells, the interstitial tissue. Over time, you lose your ability to effectively hydrate your beautiful cells as this residue build up. Waste no time! Drink up!

Step #3: Add Lemons

Place ½ squeezed lemon juice 8 ounces of water twice per day. All in all, drink at least 8 – 8 ounce glasses of water each day. (Or, you may need more. Remember to drink ½ your body weight in ounces. 120 pounds means 60 ounces of water.)

Finally, lots of changes in the skin over time are due to oxidative damage. This can easily come from the sun alone. It also can come from diet or nasty little habits.

Of course, smoking is the worse and people often can recognize changes in the skin of a smoker over the years. This is a more extreme example. The more processed foods or toxins in the food you eat, the faster oxidative damage will affect your skin.

To combat this, welcome delicious antioxidant rich foods into your diet each and ever day! “Anti-Oxidant” means that it directly counteracts the oxidative damage and neutralizes the free radicals that we all hear about. Translation: slow the aging process and have beautiful skin longer.

Step #4: Eat Fruit
