A Daughter’s Green Smoothie Miracle

Just wanted to write a little note and a big Thank You!!

My Father recently had a heart attack. He has been in the hospital for the past number of weeks.  (To back up a little, I learned about green smoothies about 2 years back and have been following people like you and websites like Green Smoothie Queen, taking time each day to learn more on my quest for health.) My Dad would drink my green smoothies once in awhile and enjoyed them, but would not follow a vegan or regular healthy life style.

So at present, my Father has been in the hospital now for 3 weeks.  Each morning I wake up an hour and a half earlier before my work day starts to prepare GOOD food and visit him in the hospital. I have a green smoothie for him for breakfast, a salad for lunch, and either a salad or green smoothie for supper, with nuts, seeds, and whole fruit for snacks.  I chat with him a bit about what the food is for, and what it’s doing for his body.

A miracle is happening!!He has a cataract that needs to be operated on. Upon my arrival at the hospital the other day, my dad asks… “Where is my green smoothie? Larissa you will never guess what happening!!”

He proceeded to tell me how his cataract is reversing; he is watching the curtain over his eye be pulled up!!

He is so excited about it and is now set that he will be having a green smoothie every morning for breakfast for the rest of his life, along with a dramatic lifestyle change!

He had a smoothie with berries in it and complained of the seeds, and I told him about Blendtec. Now he is set on getting one as well.

So here is a HUGE Green Smoothie Thank You, From My Jug To Yours!!
Thank you for what you do!! You have changed My Life, and My Dad’s!

I will be moving to Brazil in a few months, and it is my mission to pass on Knowledge like this and make the world a healthier place One Green Smoothie at a Time!!!

Larissa

Update from Larissa:

green-smoothie-warriorThis picture was taken last year in Brazil.  I send this pic because it is partly the idea of being back in Brazil with fresh organic fruit and veg and an active lifestyle that is keeping my father going.

My father is still in the hospital. He did have to have a bypass, so I am really working on a good diet for him… as over cooked potato, turkey and gravy  (hospital food) are not what will make him better!!

I have burnt through 2 blenders! One day I will get a Blendtec… It’s on my birthday list – the only thing I am asking for!!! cross fingers!

Thank you for your support about Brazil. I look forward to going there to educate. It should be interesting as most Brazilians are not thrilled with veggies unless it’s a root veggie and deep fried!

I hope to take a few good blenders and even a dehydrator with me and start classes, even go into schools (provide yummy green lunches) and start them young!! I would like to start an educational community garden, and also teach them about food and FOOD COMPANIES!!!  I hope to find some good funding to educate in this manner.

Thank you again for all you have done.  The St.Patty’s Day Challenge was wonderful. I work with a nutrition center and have quietly sent many many people to your site over the last week, and as always, they are asking me what I am drinking (I make sure my green smoothie is in a glass jar… you know… gotta share the gospel… it’s not pushing if they ask!!).

My clients seem to get healthier, stronger, and lose weight faster…. I wonder Why that is???  😉   Our little secret!

Take care, and Keep doing what you do!

With Kindness,

Larissa
