I want to talk to you about a great way of finding satisfying meals that are going to help you slim down, bring sparkles to your beautiful eyes and give you tons of energy.

After all the Halloween raw treats that I prepare for my three little ones, to convince them about the “no need of sweets and yucky colors”, I found myself a little bit stuffed! I thought of going into a juice fast, but then I thought “hmm, maybe not, I have to do too many things at home, exercise and general life!”  so I decided to mono meal!

What it is a Mono Meal?

Well, a mono meal is exactly that. One type of food for one meal to give your digestive system a break and a wonderful way to clean your body from toxins. This is a wonderful way of eating and it is as close to nature as anything else. I say this because you can notice animals in the wild don’t go from bushes to trees at the same time to get a meal, actually they get their food from some place and never mixes them with anything else, so maybe you can start thinking and eating as a natural animal 😉

Mono meals can help you also free up your energy, you just need one type of food like grapes, apples or maybe romaine or what about mangoes (yummy); and no, muffins are not a mono-meal as they have a list of ingredients to make them tasty, so don’t even think about it. The only thing you need to do to find your perfect mono meal is to go to the produce section at your natural food market and get something in special that it is ripened and ready for you to enjoy.

When you do a mono meal great things start to happen, first, you get a lot of energy, because your body just needs to digest something simple and doesn’t need to break things down and not much energy is needed for this process, so you are ready to go. Second, the mono meal helps to push out old waste out from your body and this is known as a peristaltic action, so yes you are going to feel the freedom of your body and maybe you just need one or maybe two meals in this way to feel lighter and refresh immediately and the more your meals are made of one or two types of food the faster a cleanse will happen. This is also an effective way of cleansing if you are not ready for a juice fast or maybe you need to take care of somebody so resting is not an option.

Now, if you decided to do a mono meal maybe you want to know that the food passes really fast so you may feel a little bit hungry so you want to drink some fresh clean water and wait for at least an hour before you put something different in your stomach.

Another important thing about mono meals is that they work as a juice fast in the sense of regulating hunger and what I mean with this, is your body relearns when enough is enough, you can satisfy your body with less food. A good example of this idea is, when you are getting a pineapple, at the beginning, you can taste how refreshing the fruit is, but after a while you can start having this rare flavor that doesn’t taste good for you anymore so this is a way of your body to say stop now, so yes your body has this super wisdom to letting you know how to better take care of itself.

You may want to add two types or maybe three, at most, when you start this great adventure so I am suggesting some good food combinations:

Duos

Avocados and celery

Mango and watercress

Pineapple and parsley

Trios

Avocado, zucchini and tomato

Watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew

Smoothies

Green smoothies are also a great option as duo combination, you can also add some nuts with a good food combination , but I prefer to stay away from nuts when cleansing because they are harder to digest and sometimes they can clog you out.

Mono meals are a wonderful way of eating and you don’t need to think too much of what to prepare is fast and super convenient.

So, if you think you are ready to give it a try for at least for one meal, I can tell you something, you are going to love this darling, expect pure bliss.

I wish you a wonderful day and a marvelous life; in the meanwhile I am going to have my delicious papaya as a mono meal for breakfast today 😉
