Sisterhood Spotlight: Jodi loves the support here at The Raw Divas

Hi, my name is Jodi.

I started looking more into natural health about 7 years ago.  The journey (reading materials, changing beauty products, changing cleaning products, etc.) led me to raw foods.

I have read about raw foods, green smoothies, and overall health. I first read Natalia Rose’s book “The Raw Food Detox Diet” and have read her other books as well.  I’ve also read other authors including Alissa Cohen and Victoria Boutenko.

It has taken me a while to implement what I’ve read in these books.  I’m making gradual changes in my life as I work towards improving my overall health.  Some of the things I’m working on include fatigue, digestion/bowel issues, and hormone balancing.

I was lead to the Raw Divas when I was reading Angela Stokes-Monarch’s weekly newsletter in February of 2010.  The newsletter mentioned the WISH summit and that’s how I was first introduced to the Raw Divas.  I thoroughly enjoyed WISH.

Since that introduction, I have participated in many of the Raw Divas programs.  I had my first Green Smoothie when I joined the 21-day Green Smoothie Detox in April 2010.  Prior to that I had only made green juices.

The Raw Divas have touched my life in a beautiful way.

  • They offer support.
  • They remind you that you are a sensational person.
  • They know that you can do what you put your mind to, sometimes with a little extra push.

All of this support and unconditional love leave you knowing that you can DO IT!

It may be on a gradient, but they know and help reinforce your desire to achieve better health.  They remind you that you are not alone.  I love that this has increased my sense of community.

I have definitely been working on a gradient, and I have enjoyed trying new raw food recipes.  I am currently eliminating gluten from my diet and working on cutting out dairy as well.  One of the next items I want to include in my diet is wheatgrass juice.  My next step is to learn how to grow it and get the necessary supplies.

I love that the Raw Divas are right behind me supporting me along the way. Being a mother, I want to be an example to my daughter. She thinks a lot of my changes so far are strange. I hope she’ll see the differences in me and want to make positive changes in her life. One of my favorite and strange new habits, according to my teenage daughter, is dry skin brushing.  I love it!

And I love the Raw Divas! Lyn asked if I had any tip to share. My tip would be to plan out your day/week.  I don’t always get this done, but it is one of my goals to get better and better at doing this, as I find it really helps a lot.
