Raw Mom Cooked Dad Day 5: Heather Pace and Dr. LindaJoy Rose – Jenna Norwood to be rescheduled
Written by Tera on October 14, 2010 – -Morning, Magnificence!
Are you ready for a curve ball?
Today we’ve got two fabulous ladies on the menu and you’re in for a few surprises. But first, here’s a special Halloween recipe that Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo contributed to the blog comments. In case you missed it, you can check it out and visit her other Halloween recipes for the whole family! (She’s got the BEST recipes for kids!)
Here’s a recipe that my kids love…and so do the neighbors kids. It’s from my book “Healthy Halloween Treats” available HERE.
Caramel Covered Apple on a Stick
Ingredients
1 cup dates
1/4 to 1/2 cup almond milk or other nut milk of your choice
a dash of sea salt
1 teaspoon coconut oil (optional)
1 teaspoon vanilla (extract or powder) or 1 inch vanilla bean, scraped
3-4 apples
Preparation
1- Blend all ingredients except apple until smooth, starting with 1/4 cup almond milk and adding extra only if needed to blend, assuring the mixture stays thick
3- Insert a Popsicle stick into the center of each apple
4- Dip apple into caramel sauce
5- Refrigerate until caramel semi hardens
Serve and enjoy the squeals of delight.
I’m looking forward to meeting Tera and Robyn in person at Robyn’s retreat in April 2011. Love, health and joy to all, Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo.

Heather Pace
If you were driving through this event so far, you are about to experience a very sharp left hand turn. This was the most unexpected thing that happened to me during this entire event. I called up Heather Pace because she’s the Queen of raw food dessets and I was sure she would have some inspiring tips and fabulous recipes to pass our way. The kinds of irresistible dishes that no man can refuse. (They say, afterall, that the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, so Heather was my ticket to success. However, when I called her up the conversation took some very unexpected directions. I’ll leave you with a bit of mystery, here, but know that this interview risks creating a bit of commotion. Let us know what you think and enjoy!
Dr. LindaJoy Rose
Ahhh, this lovely lady joined us because she’s just finished working on a book all about “Raw Fusion” (how to marry the worlds of cooked and raw food together. She interviewed a whole lot of raw food “gurus” to find out what they eat when they “cheat” and some of the cooked food compromises they turn to when they’re not raw. I think you’ll find this call pretty interesting and get new inspiration and confidence to walk your own path, listen to YOUR body and discover what works best for you.
We recognize that once these latest calls are put on the table, things will start getting a bit interesting around here. We want to let you know that we’ve been careful to try and represent multiple points of view, and aren’t trying to skew the message of this program one way or the other.
Ultimately, at the end of the day what we’re trying to do is find tools to improve our relationships. Not just our relationships with food, but our relationships with ourselves and our loved ones. Tolerance, understanding and compassion are the most important things we can put on the menu, so please keep an open heart when hearing the stories of others. We’re all hear to learn and understand, to grow and improve our conditions in life. At the end of the day, know that there will ALWAYS be someone who disagrees with you, and that personal integrity is having the courage to speak your truth, walk your path with confidence and grant other people the right to do the same.
With love and understanding,
Tera and Fiona

I am so excited to listen to this line-up of lovely ladies — say that 10 times fast…he he — I absolutely LOVED Jenna Norwoods’ movie SuperCharge Me and can’t wait to hear what she has to say on the call. That recipe for Caramel Covered Apple on a Stick sounds absolutely decadently delicious. I can’t wait to try that and have my children test it out. Thank you so much to Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo.

Heather, you need to go study Dr. Robert O.Young’s work, he is the only one who can prove what he is talking about and is not on these calls. Get off your fat ACID, SUGAR. All these so called raw guru’s are living in a self created fantasy which is OK for them until it catches up to them like it did to you.
Eating flesh is a Satanic ritual, if you want a graveyard free stomach, you don’t need to eat flesh. Your Dr. does not know what she is talking about, sorry.

I Love the summit thank you so much!
can someone talk about contraception on raw food??
contraceptive pills are a huge problem im my generation they are given out very easily to solve all sorts of problems not just for contraception. Being a 21 year raw foodist i would love for the subject to be covered
Doctors putting young people on hormone treatments like contraceptive pills is definitely one of the things that get me fired about the world. Before I decided to swim up stream by myself and go Raw about 9 months ago I had major consequences from being put on multiple kinds of contraceptive pills from the age of 14 because of menstrual cycle problems i experienced huge weight gain and stretchmarks everywhere I feel like I have been pregnant a few times over and I don’t have any children.
Thank you to all you beautiful people apart of this community you have changed my life for ever!

As Heather described her diet what struck me was that she didn’t like savory. A raw vegan diet contains almost no salt and salt is an essential nutrient for the body. It’s essential to add salt (high quality of course) to any vegan diet. Although some people may need meat (which also supplies salt), everyone needs salt, B12… Raw vegan can be wonderful, but also tricky if it’s not done right.

Tera + Dr. Rose really touched on an argument that recently “hurt” me quite a bit. We are raw (aspiring) mum and cooked dad (raw aspiring as well actually….I suppose) with no kids.
And I really get frustrated with my hubby being sooo slow in the raw-evolution, while he knows it all, read a lot of books, starts every day with a green juice, eats tons of fruit and even preaches to others. But let a Pizza, chocolate bar, cinema popcorn….cross his path and that’s it for him. I mean he literally screws it every single day. I really talk openly about MY struggles “failures” and battles – which are quite a few as well – and this is REALLY not about me wanting to criticise or wanting to be “better than”. This is about such an important thing as HEALTH and LIFE (not about the colour of his socks – who cares!!) and this is about a loved-one hurting himself before your eyes again and again and again.
This is a sad thing – and I feel bad emotions and I do not want to suffer about that. I need to concentrate my powers on myself and therefore I really need to figure out how I can emotionally detach in that moment (from thinking what that fatty greasy trashy pizza is actually doing in his body and to his body). These incidents blew quite a few of harmonious moments out of the window recently, and most of all: I don’t want to feel so sad in these moments and have these negative/hopeless emotions. Maybe the solution is in having faith….he already got so far in the last 5 years (and me too – let’s not forget that). There are tons of food we don’t buy anymore, he KNOWS how he feels on RAW, so he will take more and more steps towards health eventually. I just have to figure out how to be more faithful, calm and….more confident about my own raw path – which isn’t easy either. Thanks for this GREAT initiative!!

There is a great movie called “Kung Fu Panda”. For those of you who haven’t seen it, I would suggest that you watch it. In one of the scenes, Master Oogway tells Panda:
“You will never fulfill your destiny until you let go of the illusion of control.”
I believe that resistance meets with resistance. I also believe that one should treat others the way they want to be treated. If we treat our cooked food family members with the respect that we want – only then can we hope that they will begin to come around to our way of thinking about food.

These ladies gave me a little more peace about moving into it slowly and not having to go 100% to be healthy. It is all about Balance!!! Thanks again. (Thanks for letting a Man in the group! Wow, so it’s so great to hear all the different experiences of each guest featured on these calls. They vary so much in their backgrounds, practices, and opinions.
So Heather Pace is now incorporating meat and fish! And after visiting Frederic Patenaude’s site, he’s mentioned raw vegans who are unhealthy… Interesting.
And Dr. LindaJoy Rose blends cooked and raw!
I love how you (Tera and Fiona) have brought together so many diverse opinions so that we can enlighten ourselves with many different points of view. I know I have learned so much already listening to these interviews. Thank-you for all your hard work!

I have been experiencing the same problems Heather described being on raw vegan foods and will try to incorporate more meat into my diet. I wonder if it’s a blood type thing where some people prosper on raw foods and other do better on a partially raw diet.
Thank you Heather being honest on this call about your diet. I may not have understood why I have a rash on my face, bloating, gas and extreme fatigue on this diet.

Hi, another great day! I am loving this event!
I have Heathy’s dessert cookbook, so was psyched to listen to her call. Very interesting (and a bit nerve-wracking) that the raw food diet was making her so sick. Makes me more aware that I need to pay attention to ensure I am getting a good range of nutrition on my raw journey.
But here is a question: why is nutritional deficiency such a big question and topic of conversation on the raw food diet? How can it be missing nutrients that a SAD diet would have? It can’t. Yet, someone on a SAD diet isn’t fretting about getting a nutritional balance… or maybe they are, I dunno.
And one final comment, yes, I agree that we have to honor each individual’s choice. But most people don’t choose a path or a way of eating or a lifestyle. It is easier to accept the one offered to us by the world. This to me would be an issue in a relationship with someone not raw. I would wonder, how can this person not live a life they choose? How can they just accept what’s on offer? Just some thoughts.
The event is thought-provoking!

Just listened to Heather’s call and glad she found a way to feel better. I wish it didn’t include eating meat because I believe the meat and dairy industries are brutal and hard on the environment. I’m wondering if she had a practitioner like Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo (my nutritionist) she could have healed her problems without resorting to meat and dairy.

I disagree with the comment that ‘it is just food.’ It is not just food, that food is also life. I don’t appreciate the callous tone this interview took on toward the very end. I listened with an open mind and was left with nothing more than a waisted hour and a sad heart. The life and well-being of all beings deserves more respect than what was offered here.

I found these interviews to be insightful and interesting. Our bodies are complex. What works for one may not work for another. To be over critical of others choices is no good for us or them. I believe it was in Ka’s interview, the other day, that attitude was said to make a big difference. Anyway..I am glad that the summit is not one sided, but gives us a glimps of many possibilities. Looking forward to hearing the rest of the calls

No responsible raw food teacher advocates eating a lot of desserts and cacao. They all warn that will lead to trouble.
I wish Heather a swift return to lasting good health.
But to think that the raw vegan diet will not work because it did not work for someone who ate a lot of sweets and cacao is extremely misleading.
People like Dr. Gabriel Cousens (www.treeoflife.nu)and Dr. Brian Clement (www.hippocratesinst.org) have helped vast numbers of people reverse serious disease and stay well on a raw vegan diet.
i have been 100% raw for 10+ years and I am thriving. I eat a lot of greens and superfoods, and practice stress reduction.
I hope that in an educational series, in the future you interview people who are successful in what they are teaching.

Heather, I understand how you could have felt like giving up because I have felt the same way many times and wondered if the only answer was to become a breatharian or sungazer. I have struggled off and on with all of the same symptoms for forty years at least.
It was hard for me to deal with the perceptions and judgment from others. I can’t count how many times I have heard from supposedly conscious people, “What’s THAT about?”, as if I am not evolved enough, conscious enough and haven’t tried the latest alternative modality whether physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological, energetic, astrological… whatever.
I believe that everyone has something, a core issue, that they bounce off of for a life time that is their greatest difficulty and their greatest gift. I can thank my digestive system challenges for focusing and steering the course of my life and for most of what I have learned in the process. I have had to learn to stand in what is true for me. Maybe that was the lesson all long.
You seem to have gotten that very early on. Congratulations and happy journeys.

I truly appreciate the honesty of Heather in her interview…. I have been on a raw vegan lifestyle for a little over 6 months….it’s doing miracle for me (up to now) but lately with the cold season comming up here in Quebec I had to have cooked meal at least once a day (vegan meal). At first I was kind of desapointed with myself that I couldn’t do it 100%, but when I look back and compare what I eat now from what I’ve eated in the past I can’t beat my self down. I’ve lost almost 40 pounds on top of that. But I already look forward to next spring to be able to go raw 100% again.
My boyfirend is a real meat eater (as I was too before) and raw lifestyle doesn’t appeal to him….we even had arguments (not big fights, but we were sad not being able to do things like before) at the beginning about not eating at the same time, not the same food, 2 differents groceries, no more romantic dinner (well we’ve changed the setup a bit now and once a week I cook a vegan meal that I know he can enjoy like a thaï cury or chili, etc…). I do respect him as well as he respect me…he does support me a lot, he even let me use all the space in the food pantry, lolllll We are trying to compromise. He even agreed on giving away the micro-wave to give me room to put my dehydrator, which I think was a big step for him. But like you Tera, I still have that battle/voice in my head when I see him going in the kitchen at 9pm to grab a bag of chip or those little Vachon cake or a can of pepsi….I just close my eyes and try to not look at all….it’s really hard for me to see him putting those kind of food in his body.
And the same voice is talking in my head when I travel and share time with friends or go in visit somewhere….I find it hard to see what they are eating (but before, I was eating the same thing….why is that so hard to accept now?)
It’s like forcing myself staying in a retreat at home. I guess I need that a bit, maybe it’ll be different later on…
Sometime I stay home just to be close to my raw stuff, cause I’m affraid I won’t be able to eat the way I want elsewhere. That’s sad in a way to avoid trip that I would had look forward to before my raw-vegan lifestyle
But earing Heather really brought to me, and reinforce a notion of respect of the others. We do our own experimentation and if it works for ourself that’s great, but it might not work for everyone. Who we are to know and decide what others should or should not eat???

Courtney has a valid point when she requests information on raw food and contraception. Long term use of the contraceptive pill is known to cause B12 deficiency – sucks it right out of you. So raw vegans on this medication have your blood tests done regularly.

We are ‘SPACE & charge – everything & everyone is just SPACE & charge[charge is everything you see, hear, taste, touch, feel including emotions, thoughts, feelings, stress, retained memory, cultural beliefs, perceptions, etc...]. the more charge the more rigid, judgemental, symptoms. The more SPACE the lighter, increased health, more possiblities. SPACE reorganizes charge. Raw & living lifestyle has SPACE. you heat & cook food & the SPACE is lost/ low vibrating. SPACE is also manifested by simply quietening your mind & breathing. BEing in the moment, having JOY, gratitude, nature, etc. all are SPACE. So i agree food is not just about food — it’s about how food affects the charges you hold in your field. Foods themselves hold charge / are charge. Foods with lots of SPACE help reorganize the charge. Foods may just neutralize charge, leaving these charges in your field. Fat is stored charges & once you have enough SPACE these charges will leave. Cooked foods use SPACE & if you are low in SPACE you may get symptoms – heavy, bloating, no energy. Choose to eat living, vibrating food as opposed to dead, low vibrating food. Remember it is the SPACE that is the common denominator. we are 99% SPACE. When this SPACE is full, we leave our MIND/BODY – pass on. Thank you for your great calls.

Well i listen to the calls today and for me was a little difficult to digest what Heather said about eating meat again, I has been Vegan for 5 years, Raw for almost three, I read a lot of info and I know how hard it is not to get confused with soooo many ideas, I am sure most of humans can be raw but not completely vegans, I heard John L Fielder ( he lives in Australia) who claims that we need like 5 or 10% of some raw animal protein in our diet to be completely healthy, so i am in the process of adding raw goat cheese, and keffir, and maybe one of those days a lightly cooked egg. But I am still convince that our body’s can’t digest flesh properly, and no animal should be harm just because we think we need to eat them,it is just incorrect, and also meat is acidic for the body so is no way you can be completely healthy, and what some one else said, Heather needs to talk with Dr Ritamarie or some one else who has so many years of experience under this topic, so she can understand better what is going on in her body.
Thank you for the great interview with Dr Rose maybe her book can help my not so raw husband to make his transition more easy.
Thank for the great interviews !!! they help tons and make me think deeply about my choice to be rawsome!!

Thank you for Heather’s interview — it reinforces what I strongly believe — that no one diet is right for everyone. I too have adrenal/thyroid problems, am gluten intolerant, and do feel better when I include meat in my diet (grass fed and local is my choice). Thanks, Heather, for your honesty and sharing what has not been working for you. I too go to a doctor that uses homeopathy and find it a great way to heal.

I finished listening to Heathers call and Linda’s call early this morning. About 2 months ago I was experiencing a lot of the same symptoms that Heather was talking about especially the anger. Now my goal is to stay raw vegan and to throughly investigate and try all different options within that realm of eating. For me I simply had to up my intake of Green food and juices, and now I feel so much better. In the past I know with other things I have done I have given up too easily instead of sticking to something I feel strongly about, and asking the questions what needs to change within this area, and for instance with the raw food am I not diversifying enough, do I need to get some blood work done to see if I am deficient and where I can balance that out within the foods that I am choosing to eat. I think Trust and asking yourself sometimes difficult questions is required constantly because nothing is static, and I think people do get excited about Raw Foods initially because of the hope that finally this is the answer, I don’t have to search anymore. Our bodies adapt and plateau all the time so I think listening to your body is crucial and this like every other area in life requires commitment and perseverence, and willingness to change.

I’ve been vegan for 21 years, and I’m very committed to it for ALL the reasons that anyone ever chooses to go vegan…First of all I agree with what Jana commented above mine, I was thinking the same thing…and second I think maybe getting a second opinion, or third, might be more open minded. I really don’t think (actually I know I wouldn’t) if I was in the same health crisis situation as Heather that I would start eating animal products just because one doctor I spoke to suggested it. I would look into other sources of protein for starters. But that’s just me, and yes we all make our own decisions based on where we are on our health journey. All of that said, I would like to add that I truly believe human beings are designed to live in the tropics or sub-tropics because of our lack of fur on our bodies and how perfectly our digestive systems are designed to digest tropical fruits. Sometimes I think when humans started to migrate away from the tropics that they really needed to use animal furs and meat for survival…but that it is still not ideal for our design. We’re also not designed to be sitting in front of computers at 1 o’clock in the morning either…so good night. peace, laura

I’ve been needing some perspective and answers in other areas of my life besides food, and both of these calls today have given me some nourishment for my mind and soul. Thank you for your inspiration ladies!

Tera,
I just wanted to add that it has been such an uplifting feeling to hear your voice of compassion and acceptance in these interviews and in the Believe in Green event not too long ago. Thank you!

Thankyou again to everyone involved in this summit.
I just LOVE it
I’m learning SO much that i can apply to my Life, which will also help me to relate with others much better too. It has been great to get advice from so many different speakers, so thankyou.
I LOVE Dr Ritamarie, she sounds lovely & caring. Her warm voice is very supportive.
Did anyone catch the webpage Dr Ritamarie gave to us? It was going to be a sampler of her new ‘Dried & Gone to Heaven course’. I’d really appreciate if someone could type it here..
Tera & Fiona, you guys would make fantastic T.V show hosts…for a Healthy Living show- i’d definitely watch it
Blessings to everyone,
Sara

I was so inspired by Tera and Linda’s comments that you can’t help anyone by making them “wrong”. Whatever we fight against gets bigger, have you noticed that? There is always more than one viewpoint, otherwise everyone else would be superfluous!

I am so impressed that the summit is not simply presenting a one-sided slanted agenda, but is including many experiences.
I find Heather’s experience of becoming ill on a vegan/raw diet a perplexing one in that, as others have mentioned, her raw diet was heavy on the sweets and stimulants… we simply don’t know the entirety of her diet in the years leading up to her becoming so unwell. .. was she taking supplements, etc.
Her sweet bent/dislike of savory reminds me of a fantastic food weeds walk/talk given by Dan http://returntonature.us/ – who taught us that many of our common lawn weeds were precious belongings brought here by immigrants who knew them to be health-giving powerhouses – and how they are often more nutritious than the crops in the veggie garden where the ‘weeds’ are laboriously pulled and tossed! – How it was common wisdom to eat something bitter every day (‘bitter’ greens.)
It seems ‘one-by-one’ supplements that we were formally advised to take become ‘toxic’ and are to be avoided: Folic Acid, Vitamin A, etc. We know that supplements (especially the synthetic ones) are never better than whole foods rich in nutrients. However, as vegans are advised to take Vitamin B12, Taurine, Vit. D3, etc. And now I see some discussion as to whether vegan sourced Vitamin B12 actually performs, etc… I have to wonder if one day these, as well, will be added to the NO list. And it makes me wonder if a diet that requires supplementation can be ideal? Perhaps we should obtain these nutrients from whole foods? Maybe there is something to the 5-10% animal food notion.

Hi Tera, congratulations 4 your ‘courage & confidence”. It’s ” an example”…If we promise to “behave well” (silencing our lesser selves / letting our higher self take over…) will you share your “olive oil story again ???”

Wow, all such great calls. Too bad for Heather having to eat meat twice a day(yuck, how awful), and no sweets(DIFFICULT). Tera handled the interview so well as seems she had no warning of Heather being so sick either. Heather should have sought help earlier, and I see in comments that a second opinion could save her from having to eat meat. Though this call didn’t fit the RMCD agenda, it is good to have this brought out. If only each of us knew our individual optimal diet! Yes, perhaps we would not always take full advantage of knowing, but it would take away all the uncertainty.
I listened to Dr. LindaJoy twice (her voice was a little garbled at start and finish). I try not being judgmental, but it is hard. My dad is the king of tactless.
LindaJoy mentioned the Renegade Health Show. I just found that recently and saw an episode with Dr. Brian Clement claiming that green smoothies are “recreational food”! I am still having smoothies, but it made me wonder.
The Olive Oil Incident: Wrong oil-shouldn’t be put to high heat! Veal! I have never eaten it knowing the circumstances.

Just a quick comment to Gail – Dr. Ritamarie Loscalzo and I were at a live talk Dr.Clement was at saying the same thing about green smoothies and we bot vehemently disagree. Green smoothies have countless benefits!

Hi Everyone, I am enjoying these calls SO much. I have a question about something I read in another part of the Raw Mom website… Can someone please explain to me why it is advised that children under 1 year old not have honey. Is this just for raw honey or for any honey and what is the reason. Thanks for any help in understanding this.

I think it takes a great deal of courage to share what Heather Pace shared in this community of raw fooders, many of whom view eating animals as a crime basically. I applaud her. Regardless of what ideals we may hold to for ourselves or the planet, it just goes to show that what works is what works. If there’s an opportunity to better our health by the utilizing of animal products, I see it as a gift, and potentially foolish if not taken advantage of in certain circumstances. I unfortunately got cut off from the interview only a 3rd of the way in and would really like to hear the whole thing. Will there be an opportunity to listen again?
Really appreciate the info being shared all around. Thank you!

Hi Nadia,
Honey is the sweetest natural food we have. A baby doesn’t need this level of sugar – it has sugars in its mothers milk, in fruits and greens – honey is too much for a baby and create early cravings for sweet foods. x

Heather Pace’s revelation that she is eating meat to help heal from health issues was and unexpected godsend. I have had all of her symptoms except the abdominal cramping over the last few years. I know that my issues started when I developed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and the extreme prolonged stress wrecked havoc with my body. I had been doing well on a high raw diet but my digestive system became so weak that I wasn’t able to tolerate ANY raw foods for about 6 months. I have worked my way back to approx 50% raw but have definitely found a need for extra protein and am eating dairy products, mostly raw or cultured and occasional fish and seafood. I believe in the Raw Diet and have felt like I was doing something “wrong” but Heather’s story and success has eased my feelings of guilt for giving my body what it needs right now. I have researched, listened to my body and stumbled my way through this. If there is a vegan alternative, I haven’t found it and can’t wait for the “perfect” answer. What I’m doing really helps and it is so wonderful to hear of someone else finding a similar way to work through their health challenges.

Hi Fiona,
Thank you, that makes sense. When I think of it logically, babies under a year are really getting all they need from Mom’s milk (at the beginning anyway). Thank you, makes perfect sense. Nadia x

Honey should not be given to infants due to the risk of botulism.

I really appreciate Heather’s honesty and sharing her situation.
I’m glad she has regained her health.
I do have some questions though. I have been hearing much lately about vegans both raw and cooked going back to eating animal products.
I would be curious to know if Heather ever considered visiting a vegan dietician? Is she aware of Jack Norris RD?
He runs a couple of websites. One, his own and VeganHealth.org.
It’s been said that vegans who follow his “Daily Recommendations for Vegan Adults” have not had the problems that Heather and other former vegans have described.
Here is the site, I think you’ll find it very interesting and helpful for those who want to maintain their ethical veganism in good health.
Blessings.

I also got waylaid and did not get to listen to the conclusion to Heather’s story….hopefully we will get a chance to listen to a few of the ones we miss at the end, as in last Raw Mom Summit, which was fabulous and so helpful and inspiring/thought/provoking for me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for this:)

RE: why babies should not have honey. The real issue is that honey contains or can contain or often contains trace amounts of what we know as botulism. Small babies; being the tiny creatures that they are can not handle this. Once bigger it is not a problem.
It is truly inadvisable to give a small baby honey.
Google botulism in honey or similar and you will be exposed to a world of information about this.

Nadia-
It’s recommended to not feed infants under 12 months honey because though rare, honey may contain spores of a microorganism Clostridium botulinum. This can cause the food poisoning botulism, which is really severe in infants and can lead to a paralysis called “floppy infant syndrome”. It’s best not to chance it until the infant’s digestive and immune systems become a little stronger.
Hope that helps!

Oh, my! The call with Dr. Rose has been one of the most resonant thus far for me personally (since i got on board with the Divas in the BIG Seminar and the most recent 21-day GS Detox). I was just not ready for the wisdom and calming that was about to hit me! I think I’m about to listen to it again while I still can, hah!
Love and Faithfulness, Priorities and Perspective. Thanks!!

A healthy life is a life of SELF CONTROL.
Overindulgences in raw desserts or any one food is gluttony. Gluttony is a sin. When you have sin in your life you will not be healthy.I know because God has shown me recently that i am a glutton. Most of us are. When we put pleasure before nutrition we make wrong choice already, whether we are meat eater, vegan or raw vegan.People who thrive on any diet are the ones who eat with gratitude and moderation. I think many people can say “Hey,look, how come she/he doesnt leave in non toxic house like me,does not wear organic undies or eats exclusively organic farm fresh produce like me but leaves joyful healthy life???”
I have one friend like this,in her 60s,robust,strong – she uses her head in making all her choices, not an easy thing to do for most.
I think Norman Walker was like this.
Raw food people feel sorry for SAD people but get sick too and really have the same problem, just in different ”clothes”.
I loved your intervew Heather, sharing your struggles helps others to ask questions and think. All the best.

I loved interview with Heather!
I am vegetarian not vegan and listening to more and more opinions about vegan diet I am not so sure to go vegan…
I was to a raw food fair here in Germany and I had to find out that a lot for so called vegan raw food gurus are not so vegan as they claim… hmmm .. Do we really know what these persons take as supplements or eat when we don’t see them?
So I love that you have different interviews with different views although it dosn’t make life much easier

As with WISH, BIG (Believe in Green) and Raw Mom, Cooked Dad all have given me a wealth of information and have put within my range, a group of individuals that I haven’t heard of before. I am learning to eat a more healthful diet, however, am not certain I could do it. I found the interview with Heather Pace to be the most inspiring, to me, for my journey. During WISH, I discoverd Victoria Boutenko and with BIG it has been Robyn Openshaw and have learned to enjoy the Green Smoothie. I listened to Heather’s interview twice and I came away with – it’s ok if I can only reach the level of 75 – 80% raw. I will still get some amazing health benefits and yet, I won’t feel as if I’ve failed if I choose to have a piece of organic meat. (I, too, feel better when I eat meat.) My entire life I have been “food obsessed” and it’s time to give it rest. Over the last couple of days, I’ve learned that I can use good, healthy food as a way to fuel my body; without making myself NUTS!! Once again, thank you Tera for all of your hard work!!!
