Personal pledges! Amazing contributions! Inspiring speeches! Tears and testimonials! AND… a BiG BiG BiG objective ACHIEVED!
If you participated in the Believe in Green 2010 Challenge then THANK YOU for helping us create an event that touched soooo many! And with a little extra effort and a few extra days, we made it to our goal! And in the end, we raised $10 200.00 for The Lower East Side Girls Club! We’re just waiting to hear back from the Girls Club director to find and co-ordinate a time when Tera can make the drive from Montreal to New York and present the cheque in person! Our delightful Diva is in a flurry of activity right now as she is preparing both for the exciting Raw Mom Cooked Dad event *and* WISH (Women’s International Health Summit). But we all agree that presenting the donation in person would be soooo fantastic! If we can make that happen, we’ll be sure to take lots of photos to share!
And after all the excitement of wrapping up BiG, being away for a bluegrass campout where I had THE TIME OF MY LIFE (stick around for a couple weeks and maybe there’ll be something juicy to tell you about… 😉 ) and getting the 21-day Green Smoothie Detox going (the long weekend was so hectic I still haven’t had time to close the sign-ups, so feel free to take advantage of my busy schedule and join us now for the transition week), I’m *finally* getting back to the blog at last to share our BiG Winners over the next few days!
So let’s start today with the first contest: Our Green Smoothie Smiles!
We were looking for participants willing to sport green smoothie mustaches and green smoothie smiles! Often, I see people make comments that they’re “afraid” to try the glorious green goop! Well… as these smiling faces will attest, there’s certainly nothing to be afraid of… green smoothies can be a lot of fun! I’ve had hilarious conversations with people who stare with wide-eyes at my beloved lawnmower pulp.
ANY of these photos could have been our winner, they’re all so enthusiastic and cheerful! But in the end, we were blown away by a comment that came in with the green smoothie smile photo below, so our winner is…

I had nearly finished mine at this point, trying to match his regular mustache and get a fun shot of both of us together! Do notice the dark shadows along my hairline…that’s my ‘very hereditary’ white hair slowly changing back to a really dark brown!! Yay, hooray and whoopee…it does take patience, though!!
How’s that! A green smoothie mustache AND an amazing green smoothie testimonial. If I can keep my mane of brown hair its natural color by sticking with my green smoothies, THAT’s incentive! And seeing as how Raw Mom Cooked Dad is just around the corner, this is a fun photo to share with everyone as our winner!

You’re all waiting to hear who won the Blendtec Blender… well… I don’t know what to do with myself over that contest. TRULY it was amazing how people rose to the occasion. But I’ll keep you in suspense just a little while longer my lovelies! You’ll be delighted!
