Tera’s First Video Blog
Written by Tera on August 31, 2010 – -I have always been a woman of words, but I don’t think I realized how much I prefer those words be written, rather than spoken, until I tried to record my first video with MAC.
It’s been over 3 years now that I’ve been humming and hawing about doing my own video blog. I did one with Mika and Sebastian, but then I was just the silent assistant, so it was easy. MAC helped me take the camera out into a sunny place and we tried to do a video for the Believe in Green project.
Here’s about as far as I got.
Now that I’ve broken the video ice a bit, it doesn’t feel that difficult, and I’ve already started getting ready for another one next week.
Stay tuned and thanks for cheering me on through my stage fright.
Tera
p.s.
Please let me know what kinds of topics you’d like me to cover in an upcoming video blog? Spare us all from another cheesy home video and let me know what kind of funky topics you’d like me to

Please, please, PLEASE let that be your last video!! Seriously, many thanks for your sharing in the ways that you all do. It’s SUCH a great support for those of us transitioning into the Raw/Living Foods world. I’ve been a vegetarian for over a year now (returning), but am being called daily to adopt the 100% raw foods diet. Your website and info have been extremely helpful on my journey. Many thanks and best…Lois D.

Hi Tera you may not realise this but that was a perfect example of a re-evaluation co counselling session to discharge and release stored distressing emotions through laughing and shaking. You may not want to broadcast all of them to the world but repeating what you just did with Mac – make those statements about the camera and let those feelings flow – laugh cry shake move yawn -as many times as you need to and you will get to a point where you’re totally comfortable in front of the camera. I watched your interview too and you were fine with the camera then so there may be a clue for you there too?! best wishes

I feell your pain I don’t lke the camera either. Try to think only about the information that you are passing on to the world and how much this information needs to be shared and available. You are helping so many people. Make it about that and try to remove yourself from it completely. Try not to think about the fact that you are on camera make it only about the information. We want and need the information you are sharing. Try to look beyond the camera. Think about the message we just want to hear what you have to offer. Good luck!

it might be well to realise it is ego that makes you resist the camera; you want to appear “better” than you feel you are appearing.
when the message you want to share becomes important enough to you;
the process will just go naturally and easily and self conciousness – which is realy just a form of self indulgence – will be a thing of the past
good luck

Tera, you made me laugh (in a good way!). I love that you felt comfortable putting up the video where you were uncomfortable. (BTW, I can tell from Lois’ comment that she is only joking about wanting that to be your last video!)
When looking at the video camera, I find it helps to imagine that you’re explaining something to a friend, just one person.
To me, the fact that you’ve been brave enough to share a video where you revealed vulnerability means that you’re stepping up to creating another one – I’m looking forward to seeing it, and knowing that your human-ness in ‘video form’ will help you connect to someone who really needs to hear your message.
Love and hugs to you (we’ll miss you at The Divas!).
Joanne

I agree with others; just start talking about something you’re passionate about and you’ll forget the camera is there and your passion will show through as it does in your interview for the Raw Moms summit. Pretend the camera is a person you are talking to about the raw foods or whatever message you are trying to get across and you’ll shine!!!
Blessings

Tera,
You are a beautiful human being! Love yourself and be not so self-conscious. We can be our worst critic. This is our Ego. Forget that voice that tells you that you have to be anything other than what and who you are. You have much value!!

Tera, I just want you to know that you changed my life with the free 7 day green smoothie detox program offered on therawdivas.com. That was my first introduction to raw foods and I discovered how awesome I feel, look, and act as a result of simply giving raw foods and green smoothies a try. Your emails and newsletter gave me the support I needed to change my life infinitely for the better. It is a year later and my husband and I both continue to enjoy the benefits of the raw food lifestyle. I tell everyone who asks me my secret to looking and feeling fabulous to go to your site and start with the 7 day green smoothie detox. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And I thought it was very brave of you to put yourself out there to the world on video. I enjoyed seeing the beautiful face behind the inspiring words and work that you’ve put out there for so long. I think you can do it! Video is a great way to connect with the people you are helping so much, so please keep at it. I know will be a pro soon! Love and Gratitude, Jeannette

I love this video! And I think it’s so nice to be able to have more of a connection with you and the other beautiful women that make all this beauty happen. I made a video last year about how to use EFT to get over video making fear…check it out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q38P2d3VTmU

Tara, help people discover that their own health is the result of their own dietary and other life choices, including beliefs, and that other than trauma “medicine”, all other forms of “modern medicine” deserve very critical questioning, from vaccines to the dangers of allopathic treatment of cancer.
A very close friend of mine got cancer, first diagnoses back on July 13, 2011, and within 11 days he purged 90% of the symptoms, within 20 days, 95%; and within a month it was all ‘ancient history’, and total cost, less than $50, NO doctors, NO drugs, NO bought suplements. Of course the cancer industry doesn’t want the public to know these very effective tools, strategies.
You have a great following, and you can help get the word out. You can get more info by e-mailing me directly, so we can share this, so others can benefit from this information.

My dear friend,
Think of the camera as you would a circle of friends, or students like you were doing a class. You are a terrific teacher. I’ve seen you with a group and baby you shine! Just transfer that to the video process. Be totally you and all will fall into perfect balance
harmony.
Loving you!

Tera,
You are beautiful and I really enjoyed seeing your video fright. I feel your pain. I’m the same way! When asked to give a talk, I sometimes just read from my paper and that’s ok because now I do occasionally look up and it’s getting better. I hate to get my picture taken also, but a girlfriend once told me that she was like that too until one of her grandchildren asked why there were not many pictures of her through the years. You never know, ages from now, the videos can be watched by all who love you and you can lovingly remember how you once hated that camera! Keep it up and keep it real! Love it! I really did!
