Full Moon, High Tide, PMS and Green Smoothies!

As the northern hemisphere is reaching for the full moon, my body is playing tricks on me!
I’m craving chocolate and salt; ice cream and pastries. Now, I’m not totally raw in my dietary choices, but I do manage to create a green smoothie most days.
Add to this the high tides (which are pulled by the moon of course) and the pre-menopausal PMS that has made its home inside of me for a while, then you might just say…
I’m facing a crisis!

But don’t be stuck by things you can’t control.
1. Up the Greens
- There needs to be more greens in smoothies and more salads on my plate. I’m mixing it up today. I have a box of mixed baby greens that need to be used before it becomes compost! Green smoothies can be the answer to whatever ails you. Have you found this? Would love to hear your stories!
2. Find Your Water Bottle
- Find my water bottle! Any time I’m feeling over-whelmed or in need of that je ne sais qui, those extra ounces of water help to keep me centred. There’s lots of articles on the web that speak to the benefits of water. For me, right now, this means great opportunities to flush the extra toxins out.
3. Relax
- Don’t underestimate how valuable making time for fresh air and relaxation can be. I’ve been focusing this summer on finding balance; on finding time for the little things like my hair, nails, bubble baths etc.
Following those 3 steps will definitely help you (and me!) maintain some equilibrium.
Here’s my luncheon green smoothie today:
Fresh and Light
Ingredients:
- 2 large cucumbers, peeled
- 1 stalk celery
- hand-full of fresh parsley
- 1 cup blueberries
- mixed greens
Blend until smooth.
Garnish with a fresh nastursium blossom.
Enjoy!

i love this article; i just got finished writing in my green smoothie journal about my heightened cravings for chips and ice cream these past couple of days…but also my cravings for the greens and the salads and the veggies.
thanks for sharing; love to hear talk about the moon and to be reminded of the thousands of factors that are swimming around our existence, like the moon.
