It doesn’t happen every weekend that you get the opportunity to serve up 7000 green smoothie samples in your local community.
Thanks to our Montreal Raw Food Community Miracle Worker, Ildiko Brunner, we recently gathered up friends, children, boyfriends, ex-husbands and everyone else we could get to help contribute to spending the weekend at Montreal’s local healthy eating expo.
There were hundreds of kiosks and over 20,000 visitors in one weekend. 
There was everything from beauty products and blenders to fancy water filters. There were bars, supplements, juices, crackers, boxes and bucket loads of soy-based food. There were blobs of weird veggie pâté circulating near the fake vegan ham samples and it seemed as though 1 in 5 kiosks had something coated in chocolate.
It was an orgy of organics and “natural” health, but the one thing that surprised me most was that, after having passed 3 days amidst the hustle and bustle of one of Canada’s largest natural health expositions, I realized that of the hundreds of kiosks there, we were the ONLY one whose product was entirely fruits and vegetables.
People are so accustomed to buying health in tetra packs and fancy wrappers… As we stood there calling out an invitation to sample our green smoothies, we would repeatedly hear the question:
“But what are you selling?”
To which we replied:
“We’re selling the idea that you can experience incredible health benefits by going to your local grocery store and buying leafy greens. Then if you would simply stuff some of them in your next fruit smoothie and skip your bacon and eggs you’ll be well on your way to boundless energy and vibrant health.”
We served 7000 smoothies and 7000 people could simply look at what we were doing and understand that all they need to do is add greens to their smoothies and they’ll be on the track to better health and more energy!
No gimmicks.
No fancy buy one get one free offers.
No recycled packaging.
Just greens and fruit.
When you realize that what you offer is available to anyone no matter what budget or boundaries they may have, the motivation to reach everyone is extraordinary. The potential to improve lives and the circumstances in which we all share sparks incredible opportunities.
Opportunities that begin with just a green sip…
