I recently joined the Raw Mom team, and I wanted to say “hello!” I am so excited to be part of this amazing community.

I have been eating a mixture of raw and cooked vegetarian food for 2 years now. I make no claims to be an ‘expert’ or author of bestselling books – but my own experiences have shown me I can heal my body and improve my health by making responsible choices. What we choose to put into our bodies, coupled with what we allow to flow through us emotionally – really creates our state of wellness.

We’ve all experienced emotional eating! Stress can tighten our stomachs, and make it hard to eat. When we resist sadness we can become depressed. Choosing to not experience and release the sadness means the majority of us create lifestyles that specifically avoid triggering emotions that we find too painful. Comfort foods help ‘mute’ confronting feelings – rather than turning up the volume and letting us experience how we really feel.

All of us have different experiences on a high raw diet. Some gain clarity, feel energized, require less sleep, or cure diseases. Raw food helped boost my endocrine system and highlighted how I use food to control how I feel. It’s when we’re emotionally overwhelmed and not choosing to experience these emotions fully- that those cravings for bread and cooked food can easily take over.

I will always remember my first green smoothie – my first green juice was another level altogether! I was hooked. As your body sucks up the leafy nutrient packed cocktail, you can almost feel each cell smiling. Because your body is fully fueled with high octane green stuff – little else is required!

I found my emotions flowed faster without the sluggishness of cooked foods in my system. It can take a while, but once you find your flow your body feels healthier and is able to release unwanted weight and stress. Green smoothies and green juices taste so good, and are completely guilt free. This choice I made was all about accepting ‘liquid love’ into my body and spending more time on loving myself.

Raw food found me a while ago – a friend would email me articles, but they just didn’t GRAB me. It took being suddenly faced with surgery on my thyroid -for me to feel how I really felt. I KNEW I could heal myself. It was like someone flipped a switch in my soul. I didn’t want to moan about being dependent on medication for the rest of my life – and I didn’t want to blame anyone for the decision I made. Both would be the result of me living in fear of what my friends and doctors expected me to do.

By following my heart – I am not only healthy and more alive than ever – I trust myself so much more. Being able to trust your feelings is so liberating! My goal is to submit to my feelings and let things unfold as I desire. I can see what my desires truly are by what I create in my life! If I have fears, I try to choose to experience them – hindsight has taught me that they are often just False Expectations Appearing Real.

Our paths are unique as snowflakes, their course navigated by our soul’s true desires. The beautiful gift of free will allows us to make our own choices and travel our own personal journeys. As we make choices our paths naturally change course, and we take responsibility for what we experience. On our journey we can choose everything – whether to accelerate, put our hazards on, or pull over and ask for directions.

If our desire is to grow spiritually, our soul will attract perfect opportunities for this to happen. If we choose to fully experience triggered emotions as they bubble up, we make room for more love to fill our soul. As mothers we aim to provide a loving home in which our family can thrive. Love is compromising and accepting, it doesn’t judge, nor does it expect anything. If I have any words of wisdom to share, I have learned you cannot expect others to travel alongside you – nor resent them for not making your choices. Our journey takes as long as we choose. Celebrate your right to choose! Make choices that create amazing things and allow this love to shine as bright as it can on your family and those around you.

We offer some great courses to start you off and see you through:

I love the following sentence, it’s so beautiful!

“Our paths are unique as snowflakes, their course navigated by our soul’s true desires.”
