Greens, Goji, and Ginger: G-G-Gooood Green Smoothie Recipes

– by Katia Dupoirier

Katia has shared with us a number of fantastic green smoothie recipes that will keep your future weekends lean and green!  We’ll start today with two of her green smoothie recipes using goji berriesginger, and of course – our favourite – greens, to make sure your Saturday and Sunday keep you going, glowing, and gleeful.

Yes… I’m afraid I’m quite tempted to overuse my “g” alliteration today with these ingredients.  But hey, maybe it’s not such a bad thing to give some attention to our g-spots today!  😉

(heheh… Forgive me… I think my impending vacation to Las Vegas, the good old city of sin,  is getting me a little more cheeky than usual)  But enough from me… I’ll let you get to the goooooood stuff from Katia:

Goji-berrylicious Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 cups Goji juice
(simply soak overnight a handful – or more, it is entirely up to you – of dried goji berries in 1 or 2 cups purified water, then strain through nut mylk bag)
  • 1 cup berries of your choice
    (raspberries taste good in this)
  • 1 head butter lettuce
  • stevia to taste if desired

Directions:

Put all ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend away!

Best Green Smoothie I’ve Ever Had

Romaine lettuce - green smoothie recipesIngredients:

  • 1 head Romaine or any other greens of your choice
(I’ve used some red oaks along with Romaine lettuce for this smoothie)
  • 1 and a half frozen bananas
  • 2 frozen or fresh figs
  • big piece of fresh ginger
  • few drops vanilla-flavoured stevia
(if you don’t have vanilla-flavoured stevia, replace with stevia and vanilla)
  • 2 to 3 cups water
(can’t remember the exact amount of water to be honest but it made about 2 litres/quarts of this green smoothie)

NOTE: We believe though that the figs could be omitted and it will still have this wonderful flavour. The yumminess came mainly from the blend of the banana, ginger and vanilla!

Directions:

Put all the ingredients into a high-speed blender and blend.

It is delicious!

Enjoy!  🙂
