chocolate mint cinnamon green smoothie

Once again we’re featuring some salivating green smoothie selections from Katia!  We often get requests from people who are trying to limit or avoid fruit in their diets, so these particular green smoothie recipes might be just the trick.  All I know is that there’s chocolate involved.

Enough said.

  • 4 heaping tablespoons cacao powder and/or carob powder

Creamy Ginger-Bread Green Smoothie

First chocolate…. now ginger-bread…  mmmmm…..  decadent!

gingerbread green smoothieIngredients:

  • 1 head romaine
  • 1 avocado
  • Two tablespoons pumpkin spice powder (ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, cardamon)
  • Few drops vanilla essence with stevia or vanilla-flavoured stevia
  • 1 cup water
  • Pinch of cacao or carob powder

Cucumber Delight Green Smoothie

Yes… this one does contain a little bit of fruit, but berries are much lower in natural sugars than other fruits, so you can try this and see how it feels!

cucumber green smoothieIngredients:

  • 1 head butter lettuce
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 1 cup or two handfuls berries (raspberries or strawberries are good choices for this recipe)
  • 1 small handful fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup water

Directions:

Put all the ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend away 😉 Pour into a glass and enjoy.
