Notes from the Folks
Written by admin on January 8, 2010 – -We LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, to hear from you. We thought we’d take a moment to share a quick e-mail that came in for The Green Smoothie Queen from Susan today! Have a green and glorious weekend!
Hi! I’ve been increasing my raw and green consumption for a short while now and have a lot of fun with it. There were a lot of things on your list of ways to go green that I can incorporate into my life. Three include bringing my lunch in reusable containers (plastic, or I have a tin I can use–and I’ve even considered bringing it with me to restaurants to store my leftovers!), washing and reusing plastic lunch bags, and unplugging more unused electrical items.
I also plan to shop more at the local co-op (I’m so lucky to have a co-op AND a huge farmers market so close by!). Speaking of which, the secret word in that list was ******* [tee hee... sorry my pouty little puff, The Green Smoothie Queen decrees that you see for yourself!]. What a great word!
Thanks for the support and recipes!
Susan

Your readers might want to know to be careful about reusing plastic lunch bags. Some of these plastics can give off toxins, and reusing some plastics releases even more of these toxins.
Here is a pdf file with the plastic codes, which show you which ones are safe, and which ones should be avoided.
