From the Pencils of Babes

Written by Stacey on April 10, 2009 – -

Hello everyone!

I just thought I’d share with you some gorgeous pictures that my daughter Evangeline drew recently. My daughters and I often talk about the environment – about looking after our precious Mother Earth and how she looks after us – and they soak up this information like little sponges.

Drawing on some notepaper that came courtesy of a goodie bag from a school-friend’s party, Evie created these (all pictures are reproduced with her kind permission):

(Note: Petrol is the Australian/British word for “gas”.) We’re very proud of her spelling ability, having only just started school in February. We think that “woheld” is a pretty good attempt at “world”!

In the second picture, the little person is wearing sunglasses and enjoying the sunshine:

I hope you enjoy these as much as we do. Evie is so proud to be able to share her artwork with you.

Have a wonderful week, won’t you?

Love & hugs from me to you!

Jo

    Hi Joanne,

“Woheld” is a great attempt at world – and actually pretty accurate when I think of the Australian accent (my family live in Melbourne). But the most impressive spelling is the fact she can spell “Beautiful” correctly – something many adults cannot do! And I totally love her picture of the woheld. That is one smart kiddie you have!

Hi Jane! Thank you for your lovely comments – Evie and Bella are pretty amazing with their spelling and reading (I guess having an author/book editor for a mum has to rub off somehow!). Starting school this year has been interesting for them, with them learning that everyone is good at something – whether it be music, art, sports or reading etc – and that it’s OK that they may not be good at everything!

    Thank you again!

    Love Jo
