You have to HAVE it before you can GET it!

“We aren’t here to see through each other, but to see each other through” Anon
What do you want? On a superficial level, what do you want? How about on a deep level, what do you want there? What do you want in your work? Your family? Your state of health? Wealth? In any given situation in your life RIGHT NOW~ what do you want?
I’ll tell you what I want- I want it ALL! I want health, happiness, confident, capable and happy kids, inner peace, world-peace, beauty- inside-out, success, a husband who thrives, perhaps some new art supplies or even to create a painting that would move the world like the Mona Lisa did…and a new Gucci bag wouldn’t hurt!
(Oooooh, their heirloom quality absolutely fascinates me! Some girls like shoes, some girls like lipstick, some girls like food; me, I like handbags, and Gucci is the ultimate! The structure of each bag with zippers that smoooooothly operate even on the thousandth time, and hardware that feels softer than silk- they are like Art or Architecture to me and represent elegance, glamour, culture and class. I would rather have a Gucci bag than a car. I would rather have a Gucci bag than a vacation. In my wildest FANTASIES they would design a bag after me/for me, like they did with Jackie O, only my bag would be made not out of leather, but cruelty-free canvas or straw with bamboo or wood handles with a relaxed and sensual shape, and an ‘every woman’s’ budget. Ahhh, sweet lover of mine, its nice to dream!)
Did I lose ya on the last one..? Did you want to judge that wish list, especially the Gucci goochee- goo part..? Does that seem just so superficial and un-Spiritual, whatever THAT means, hehe, and so NOT ‘rawmom’?…Its ok; in fact its perfect! In the privacy of your own mind, you just saw something about yourself- and it isn’t that you may have judged me. It’s that you judged YOU.
If you lay that trip on the world, if you project judgement on life about what someone else thinks or does, if you cut off anyone’s beingness and can’t bless them however they are- its just a reflection of what you do to YOURSELF. Whatever we ‘project’ onto someone, just like a film projector, what we are doing is creating ‘out there’ our movie.
And whenever we are upset with anyone, it is always because they are not playing the part we think they should be playing!
It’s really a good idea the saying ‘do unto others what you’d have done unto yourself’ because in a very literal sense, what you do unto others you will do unto yourself. If you judge others harshly about their diet for example, is just a reflection of how stressed and rigid you are about your own diet, despite how much healthier your diet may be. Until you are OK with where other people are at with their journey, you won’t be OK with where you are, even if you feel you are farther along then them, it still won’t be enough for you.
Life is just a reflection of our thoughts. We always seem to think things come from outside of ourselves, but actually it’s the opposite- ‘as the roots, so the fruits’. Take abundance. People want abundance and imagine that it comes from the outer realms- money, success, health, material wealth, etc. Abundance isn’t something that comes to you- abundance is something that comes from you. Its all there, inside.
When you realise whatever is lacking in any situation YOU COULD BRING IT, you will never be disappointed again. You want more love? Bring more love. You want better friendships? Bring true friendship. You want harmony, bring that to all situations. You want laughter, LAUGH! HAHAHAHAHA!
And what’s wrong with wanting money and nice things- nothing! This world is one of TOTAL ABUNDANCE. Just look around in Nature- do you see one or two leaves on a tree, or too many to count? There are 300 different species of avocados! Everywhere you look, its obvious this is an abundant Universe. To assume we are any different is arrogant. To judge what we or anyone chooses is disillusionment.
But what is always important to understand is anything we could want is within us already. And anything we want is ours to have, no judgement, and when we know we actually are already whatever what we want represents to us, that is when it just comes straight to us without any effort at all. Like a magnet, we attract exactly what we are. So come on my lovelies, stop pinching off the flow of life by contracting-up your marvellous self in petty judgements of yourself or others, and DARE TO DREAM! To DESIRE! To truly LIVE!
Let’s accept ourselves wherever we are, and how I am suggesting we achieve that is to begin by accepting others exactly as they are, and as we just stop judging others, we will automatically stop judging ourselves. And vice versa. So observe and allow what you want, how you think, what you eat, and where you are at. And just let it be as it is. Maybe even laugh, and have a giggle and enjoy all the ironies, idiosyncrasies and contradictions that make up a full and vital person- in fact, REVEL in it, if you will! If we can sit in any moment and be comfortable there, we will allow others to do the same. What a profoundly loving and empowering space to raise our children in. Including our own child-within. Bless what you want!
Xo Shannon
Ps
Well, I don’t know about the Gucci bag showing up any time soon, but I have been painting lately so here’s a couple of my latest creations- In-Joy!

Thanks for your article, Shannon! And your art – I love them both!
I find that when I make a concerted effort (which I try to do daily) to love, appreciate, and accept myself, others mirror it right back at me!
I always notice that if I happen to judge someone, it’s me I’m really judging – every time. As I’ve become more proficient at paying attention to this, I’ve also learned never to take anything anyone else says or does personally – even if it’s directed point blank at me. I know that they are only talking about themselves, and with that realization I am able to be more present with them and supportive of their needs.
Thanks again for sharing your wisdom and your art! It’s greatly appreciated!!
XOXO,
Jacki

Oh Jacki, thank you so much for your wonderful feedback- isn’t it FUN to just be the OBSERVER instead of the JUDGER! hahaha!
I used to really get down on myself and think I am ‘so complicated’, or ‘hypocrtitical’ because of having so many seemingly contradictatory sides…until a dear friend said, ‘you are like a diamond with many different facets’- which actually describes us all, if only we allow ourselves permission to shine and sparkle! xo

And SHINE and SPARKLE we will! I notice that when I’m busy shining and sparkling, the ‘judger’ is silenced – exclusion is out, inclusion reigns!
BTW, my husband really enjoys your blog also! He said yesterday that there’s no doubt in his mind that anything can stand in the way of your husband’s perfect health with you as his wife!
With love to you and your family,
Jacki

Hi Shannon,
Just read your last two posts. My prayers will be with YOU and LUKE. I know that you have the strength needed to get through this. I battled with something similar when I was 18 years old. I have a nice BIG scar on my right breast to remind me of the tumor that they removed so many years ago. I am still hear even though the doctor told me it could return. I am now in my forties and have not had any further problems. I count my blessing for that.
Tell Luke that I know he can make it. He is young and strong and has you to make the wonderful foods that will help his body to heal. Shannon your BRIGHTNESS and STRENGTH will make all the difference.
Lots of Love to Both of you

Hello!
It is so good to see a site llike this!!
It is inspiriring and heartwarming! I am the mum of the Rawfoodfamily raising three beautiful raw children together with my lovely raw husband. We have met so many other raw families and found out something special. We really experienced the importance of all sorts of GREEN, especially for the kids.
If you are doing 100% Rawfood, from my experience as mother of three, try to balance your childrens diet with GREEN (best is wild edibles) every day. A little tip: Do a lot of green smoothies. Your children will love them!
All the best to you beautiful mums and familys out there!
