Green Smoothie Video of the Week: Green Smoothie Challenge from Raw Living

Written by Tera on March 19, 2009 – -

This week’s video is from Amanda from Raw Living.  Amanda submitted the video as part of our St. Patrick’s Day Green Smoothie Challenge festivities.

I LOVE this video because it is not only inspiring, but it also shows that you do NOT have to wait until you have a high speed blender or other fancy kitchen tools to begin eating for your health and making green smoothies a part of your life! What do you think?

Thank you Amanda for sharing with us!

Are you working on a video (or picture, recipe or green smoothie party!) as part of the challenge?!? There is still time!

I’m a trucker. I carry all my equipment in my truck. I have been experimenting with gree smoothies for about four months now. I usually try to make up a batch of green smoothies like 3 or 4 pint mason jars at a time but I don’t drink them. I find that after a smoothie has set for awhile it sets off my gag reflex. So I have to start making them fresh each morning. Now I can get a fresh one down but that’s about it.
I’m looking for green smoothie recipes for diabetics. I have type II diabetes and need to get it under control.
Can you help with this request? I need green smoothie recipes.
    Please reply
    Thank you

    Greetings Sam!

If you do a search on our blog for “diabetes” you’ll find a couple related articles about fruits to and ratios to use.

These recipes are tougher to come by as most people who are starting out on green smoothies enjoy them more if they can add lots of sweet fruits. You can adapt any recipe by just replacing the suggested fruit with less sweet fruits like apples, pears, or berries.

And, depending on your tastes, you can do a search on our blog for “green savory” recipes which don’t contain any fruit.

    Hope this helps!
    xoxo
