(90-Day Detox) Day 17: Confidence and The Ability To Make Decisions

by | 2 comments

I’ve noticed there is a direct correlation between confidence and a person’s ability to make decisions. When we commit to something and withdraw our commitment, we because insecure–almost as if we lost confidence in ourselves.

Think about that one for a while.

Today’s success story kinda ties in well with today’s message. Some say self-confidence is nothing more than the ability to decide and confidence in one’s decisions. What decisions are you making today? What decisions are you putting off? avoiding?

Seriously.

Take a moment and find something you’ve been sitting on the fence about. Can you feel that insecurity–the instability of a “maybe”. Let it go! Decide!

Here’s a bit of inspiration from an old Scottish mountain climber:

“This may sound too simple, but is great in consequence. Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation), there is one elementary truth the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one’s favor all manner of unforeseen incidents, meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamt would have come his way.”

W. H. Murray, The Scottish Himalayan Expedition (1951)

I have a private coaching group with about 25 women and we connect every week for some power-support. I love it. It’s the most empowering part of my whole week and many of us have become really quite close. It’s open to participants of the Body Enlightenment System ONLY and it is an ENTIRELY free coaching program. It’s all centered around opportunities for mutual exchange. The only pre-requisite is that you must have completed the Body Enlightenment System to participate.

This is because that program is boot camp for life. 😉 We cover so many incredible support tools and get to know a lot about each other in that program. Once you’ve been through it, then I know we speak the same language enough to be a part of a coaching group.

Anyway, this week one of the members of the team wrote in this letter to everyone and I wanted to share it because it addresses the evidence of someone who has “made a decision” and what the decision did for her. And it also celebrates healthy success on a gradient, which is something I consider very important to avoiding the rollercoaster relationship with food some people can get into.

Enjoy and I hope your day is a spectacular one! Tonight I have another date with my pores at the spa! You better bet that tomato-red bikini will be strutting her stuff on a detoxing diva! 😉

Looove and hugs,

Tera

Today’s Success Story:

Good Morning Divas!!!! How are you lovely ladies???
I’m doing good. I feel strong, I feel clear, I feel healthy, and my future looks promising

So guess what? Remember how I said I wanted to be 100% RAW? Well, I decided that I don’t! How about them apples?

I like my diet the way it is, about 85-90% RAW, with at least one “cooked” but healthy item a day. For example, I had a delicious green smoothie today, for bkfst, like I always do. But, around 10 I was actually hungry, so I had 6 Gluten Free whole grain crackers. And you know what? I’m totally satisfied!

For over a month now, I notice that I’ve gotten pretty good about limiting my “cooked” to one item: maybe it’s beans on my salad, maybe it’s a few gluten free crackers, maybe it’s veggie soup, but most of the time, I stop at one item (as long as I keep it Gluten and dairy free). And you know what? I feel soooooooooo strong and content!!!

I haven’t touched my old standbys (rice, fries, chocolate, dairy, chips, meat, etc.) The only thing I”ve had these past 2 months, that I want to get rid of for good is bread! And even with that, it’s only been about 4 times, in 2 months!!!! I’m am doing soooooooooooo incredibly well!!!!

Because I’m exercising, 5 days a week, I want to eat well, and I don’t want to sabotage my efforts at the Gym. In fact, do you know I don’t even have that many cravings anymore???? It’s been so long since I’ve had one, that I don’t even feel afraid to say it aloud!!!

Girls, I feel great on the 90 day detox, and I love that I’m learning NOT to obsess about my food. I’m taking things easy, though I never cease to push myself to do better.

That’s what the 100% RAW idea came from. I thought, hey, let me push myself here. Yesterday, I was 100% RAW. Yes, I can do it, but you know what? I don’t want to! Amazing, but true. I’m really really content where I am for now.

So, my new goal is to stay consistent where I am, until I feel the need to change things for the better. Always forward, never backwards.

The changes I’ve made these past 2 months are mind blowing (I’ve released 27 pounds so far) and I went from Couch Potato to Gym Rat!!!

I LOVE MY LIFE!!!!!

Now, I’m working on getting even stronger, on the inside, and I’m working on writing my first book…yes, I”m going to reach for my dreams, regardless of the fear that has kept me back until now.

I can’t tell you how amazing RAW energy and nourishment are. They have completely changed my life around!

Have a great day girls! Keep up the good work, and know that I’m rooting for you all the way!!!!

“Don’t die without embracing the daring adventure your life is meant to be. You may go broke. You may experience failure and rejection repeatedly. You may endure multiple dysfunctional relationships. But these are all milestones along the path of a life lived courageously. They are your private victories, carving a deeper space within you to be filled with an abundance of joy, happiness, and fulfillment. So go ahead and feel the fear – then summon the courage to follow your dreams anyway. That is strength undefeatable.”
