Green Smoothies While Travelling (Green Smoothie Ingredients and Blender Tips)
Written by admin on December 2, 2008 – - I’ve been traveling quite a bit over the past few months and haven’t always had access to a blender to make my delicious green smoothies. Blenders don’t always pack well, either! I bought a Sunbeam StickMaster Pro because it is compact, can crush ice, and incorporates a mini food-processor. It hasn’t disappointed me yet. Oh – it also fits back into the box neatly!
Finding fresh greens isn’t always possible, so I keep a jar of wheatgrass powder on hand. It is concentrated green goodness that’s easy to store and use. You could use any green powder including green barley, spirulina, spelt, and chlorophyll. The smoothies made with powder are different in texture to smoothies made with fresh greens. I find that they are richer and creamier, although there is a slight powdery taste.
My favourite powder smoothie is wheatgrass powder, bananas, meat & water from a young coconut, and mango blended with the stick attachment. Yum!
The stick doesn’t work well with fresh greens, so when fresh greens are available I use the food-processor attachment. This makes quite a good smoothie. Just make sure that if you are using frozen bananas (or other frozen fruit) that you allow them to defrost a little first so that you don’t overwork the motor. With a little care, it should last quite a while.
So now you have no need to stress when planning your trips away from home.
Blessings,
Veronica

Where did you buy your Stickmaster Pro.? Does it work in North America?

I think I bought it at K-Mart, and if you can buy one in North America then I am sure it would work quite well there.
Blessings,
