Pineapple, Mango and Spinach Green Smoothie Recipe
Written by Tera on October 16, 2008 – -
Regular readers may remember my Transiton to Better Health post where I mentioned that I fell in love with an icy cool concoction of frozen pineapple, mango and spinach. It seems that combination is still a winner, and may just help other tropical fruit lovers fall in love with green smoothies.
Tonight I needed a pitcher full of smoothie to go with our light supper, and I happened to have a pineapple on my counter (and mango in my freezer). When my dear husband tried his smoothie, his eyes lit up and he exclaimed, “yum!”
I smiled and offered him the rest of the pitcher knowing I could always make more later. And I realized I should make this tried and true recipe more often! Experimenting is fun, but getting back to basics is good too — yummy even.
My husband certainly drinks many of my smoothies, but since I started moving toward more and more greens, he sometimes drinks them more out of obligation than enjoyment. Tonight it was all about enjoyment.
Pineapple, Mango and Spinach Green Smoothie
- Half of a pineapple, or about a cup of frozen pineapple chunks
- A mango, or a cup of mango frozen mango chunks
- one huge handful spinach, or to taste
- one cup water, or enough to blend to desired consistency
Blend and enjoy!

I just tried this out as my first green smoothie ever… and I am amazed! I always thought that green smoothies must taste like some kind of gross salad mush, but this is so delicious. Thanks for posting this, I am going to be eating so many more greens now!

Thank you, very useful. I wasnt really a big fan of Spinach for many years ( lie, I hated the stuff), but after shacking up with a vegetarian I kind of had to get used to it, and have gradually come to totally love the stuff. Spinach curry is undoubtedly my absolute favourite! I recently found an entire spinach recipes website which is my new favourite site now, you should take a look!
