So here you are! Welcome to your new blog! We’ll be announcing our participants and contributors, soon. If you’d like to be a bigger part of this yourself and contribute to making the world a greener, smoother place to be, let us know!

I teach Raw and Vegan classes from my home in Colorado Springs. We have had about 30 people do the Green Smoothie challenge….many different levels….and each have reported great results. We love them and thank you for the inspiration. We have over 60 recipes…..never get to make all of them since we get stuck on our favorites. My hubby and I have both lost 55 pounds and gone from cholesterol of 300 down to 165….AMAZING!!! My arthritis is completely gone…..have had 3 knee surgeries and I just accepted the arthritis as part of the previous injury & surgery progression. Never imagined it would be gone just by changing my diet. I am 55 and went from feeling 65 to 35! Thanks again for your inspiration and all the ideas and recipes. Jan

This green smoothie business is a little thing with BIG results- it literally can change one’s life. I had a client inher 70′s who literally transformed into a beautiful, youthful vision of lovliness within 3 weeks- EVERYBODY noticed the change in her and she just smiled and said ” green smoothies”. I feel so blessed to have found out about the wonderful nutrition from these fun, cheerful and easy meals. Simplicity really is Bliss, and green Smoothies are blissful. my husband and 2 boys and I have them every day and have for 4 years now- and they have been like a ray of sunshine in our home. thank you Tera and the divas for doing your part to spread the word about such a simple and powerful little habit which blesses everyone who drinks them! xoxoxxo

OH, I feel like I’m late to the party … but here I am!!!
I’ll blog my little heart away, and help in any way that I can. If that means I’m in the running for Green Smoothie Blog queen, great.
While I have your attention — I would love to see the raw divas in some of the social networks like facebook, and if you’re not already twittering, I highly suggest it. Now, if you are doing these things, please post about it so I can find you. From my professional networks to my volunteer groups, everyone is pushing social networks as a way to spread the word (whatever word they’re tring to spread, lol).

I started having green smoothies just 4 days ago and have already noticed a tremendous improvement. I used to have major sugar cravings which were so bad, i had consistently bad skin which no one was able to diagnose. My skin and energy levels immediately showed improvement and my cravings have diminished too. Thank you again

I absolutely LOVE this new hangout! Great idea! Ian and I drink GREEN every single day. Everywhere we go, we take the little green gems with us and offer a little to everyone we know, the doc, the acupuncturist, the neighbor, etc.. They all love it. My sister has to have some every time she comes to stay with us and tells all of her school friends about green smoothies. My mom is now drinking them daily and they are transforming her life. My neighbor has to have her green smoothies or she says she can’t poop. She has been constipated her whole life and then I turned her onto green smoothies and she is OK! She is amazed. My dogs love green smoothies. My favorite is bananas, strawberries, spinach, and peaches. MMMMMMM!I have always been an avid juicer, but with green smoothies in my life, it is hard to remember to juice. I mean, it takes seconds to make a smoothie and a lot more time to make juice. Hmmmmm… no brainer. Thanks Tera and Amy for starting this marvelous blog. Lots of love and blessings! xoxoxoxooxox

Well friends, it is Friday. Let’s all have a “clean-green” weekend. Whether you are going for a bike ride, a hike or cleaning out the garage or painting the kids’ bedroom….get those blenders in the whir-of-it-all and inspire the whole family with some new concoctions. Have some friends over and treat them to their first “Lean-Green” and let them choose from an array of living fruits to add pizzaz to their new discovery. It is amazing how many people out there are looking for the simplest, most concentrated form of nutrition and here we all are with it at our fingertips. Add some Hemp seed to up the protein content, add some Coconut water to revive yourselves after an intense workout, add some soaked Chia seed to offset the sugar uptake if you struggle with sugar-insulin issues, add some ground Flax seed to improve….ahem….internal mobility. WHATEVER you are doing….make it a wonderful weekend by going GREEN! Enjoy life and influence others toward good health. Your friend in Colorado, choosing LIFE one sip at a time…Jan

Hi, Tera and Company!!
I’m here to congratulate you on your awesome site and to just soak up some of your gorgeous sunshine!!!
I have been making green smoothies for over 2 years, as you know. But those were just from time-to-time. I have been having one or two green smoothies every single day since January 4th of this year. I am off insulin and oral medications for Type II diabetes. My blood pressure and cholesterol numbers are normal, and I feel wonderful! I now prepare a green smoothie (10 AM and 3 PM) for SIX other people in my office!!! (They pay for the ingredients, and I do the magic!)
Their favorite green smoothie consists of:
baby greens & spinach (blender full)or other greens or any combination & parsley
banana
low-glycemic berries of any kind
(blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, or strawberries,etc.)
avocado
organic raw almond butter
frozen organic broccoli (instead of ice cubes)!
Stabilized rice bran
YUM!!! These are different every day!
I look forward to learning more on your site, Miss Divas!!!!
With much love and admiration,
RickiRaspberry
Chandler, AZ
A few of them add
DreamPro and Red Alert (see http://www.firstshake.com).

The recipes and ideas are great, but I wonder – are you inclined to consider the 100 mile diet idea when concocting the recipes(eating as locally as possible)? What is a good substitute for a banana in a smoothie? I think that most of the raw recipes were created before we began considering the shop local factor.

By Tami on Dec 3, 2008
Hi DevaDinah and thanks for your comment — Most of the recipes posted in the last few months are original recipes that the posters made themselves, and many of us do consider eating local/regional in our daily diets, and we all live in very different parts of the world as well. I think when making your own smoothies it may be more important to make or find recipes that use local ingredients rather than trying to substute other items in an existing recipe (the example of what to subsitute for a banana and there aren’t many good substitutes, especially those that are not grown in the same parts of the world.) For me personally — I buy local when I can and support local farmers and paticipate in a CSA, but I also know that there are other factors that are even more important in protecting the environment, such as eating vegan as much as possible (transportation is less of a factor than raising animals for consumption). I also choose not to grow my own food at this time, so I know that during winter in WI my green choices would be very limited (there is one green house that grows some winter greens as well as someone that does sprouts), and while I buy those local things I also buy other non-local things in order to have the healthiest diet possible. For those that make other choices and prefer to stick to only regional food, look at the ingredients you have and either start experimenting or search for recipes that include thos specific ingredients. AND if you’re interested in giving us more information on eating local while making green smoothies, or doing a guest post on the GS blog, please contact me at tami.greensmoothieblog@gmail.org —

I love these new recipes. I’m basically a fruitarian right now but I love greens also. I can eat a whole bag of spinach.
My Diet for a Happy Planet site has a story about a visitor from a fruit planet. I plan to put up more of my smoothie recipes, but I’ll link to this site also so my visitors can access these.
