A Little Gift to Get You Grounded! (Feedback needed…)
Written by admin on August 22, 2008 – -I’ve recently been struck with the desire to help women feel grounded and put that extra step…that little extra pep in their days via a brief daily tune-in. This tuning-in exercise would include finding a quiet spot at the start of the day to focus on the breath and be lovingly and lightly guided through an audio meditation of sorts with a few powerful affirmations to help set the tone for that day.
I know, I know…….there is nothing new under the sun, and neither is this! However, when we take those not-so-new things and fuel them with new energy loaded with love and passion, well, they turn out to be new on some level, don’t they? For some, they become a breath of fresh air.
After sampling the rough draft of this idea I have in mind, Zoe Desmond from PurelyRaw.com and TheLighthouseWebWorld.com, commented:
“That was AMAZING! The words you said were so simple, but because I could hear your voice and feel your energy and emotion behind it, I just felt so filled up with Love and Energy from this. Even though I do this a few times a day on my own, this was a completely different experience. And when you said at the end that you Pray that I have a lovely day, I felt that so much in my heart that tears came into my eyes. It is so right that you intend this for women to listen to every day. We need this support, we need to hear someone else giving us words of support, because we are always doing that for everyone else. It just doesn’t have to be complex or long, just simple words of Love and support like those really can shift a lot. If I feel stresses at all today, I will play it again. Just knowing that makes me feel so supported. Listening to this has made me decide to put one of my best dresses on today, instead of just jeans and a shirt!! Please, please make 365 of these every year!!”
I would love to eventually create “365 of these every year” as Zoe generously requested, but perhaps I better start out slowly and build up from there.
And, by the way, if you don’t get to do the exercise in the morning, it would still work at night, as was the case with TJ, a home-schooling mom of three. She said: “This would have been THE PERFECT way to start my day, but still felt great doing the exercise this late (10 pm). I will have a nice, peaceful sleep.”
So, Raw Mom readers, I’d love to get some feedback from you, too.
~ Would something similar to this — but one that includes background music and a higher quality voice message — interest you?
~ Do you feel that having something like this available on a fairly regular basis would help jumpstart your day? If so, how much time would you set aside to “tune in” this way…..5 minutes or less, or more?
~ Would you rather listen to it on your computer or MP3?
Thanks for your feedback. I look forward to hearing from you.
Peace & Love,
Penny

Penny!
I’ve finally made time to listen to your recording. What a great idea you’ve had! I think a five-minute message like this every morning would be great!
Some feedback:
I’d listen to these messages while at my computer (I don’t have an MP3 player – I must get one).
I love the idea of beautiful, soft music quietly playing in the background, and of a good-quality recording (I don’t think the Utterz recording did your voice justice!).
I adore the loving messages you include. I felt wrapped up in a warm blanket of love. What a great way to start the day!
I felt, sometimes, that I was ready to breathe in (and you directed the listener to do so), but then the explanation of what to do (ie, what to say on the exhale) was a little long, and my lungs ended up almost bursting with air while I waited to exhale with you! Maybe you could say something like ‘In a moment we’ll be breathing in deeply (etc)… and on the exhale we’ll say…’, and then we do the actual breathing?
Penny, I’d love to start my day with your lovely voice and loving messages. You mention that one person requested 365 messages (one for each day of the year) – what about the possibility of a seven-day message package, so that you can listen to a different message each day of the week? For example, most people start ‘work’ on Monday, so perhaps you’d include helpful comments on that for Monday message? I don’t know… just an idea!
I think the mix of breathing and affirmations is just perfect. You’ve done a great job with this. Can’t wait to see what the end result will be!
Love from across the miles

Dearest Jo,
I can’t believe it has taken me this long to reply to your WONDERFUL feedback. I loved reading your thoughts. Please accept my heartfelt apologies for just getting back to you!
Jo, your feedback is excellent and well received. Yes, you are so right about the listener having to hold the breath a little too long through the instruction. Yikes…I did realize that after listening to it, but since it was just a practice session I knew I could fix it the next time around. I have definitely made a mental note of it. Thank you for raising that point!
And, the “seven-day message package” you suggested…….ohhh, Jo, that’s it. How brilliant you are!!!!!!!! How appropriate to try to tailor each day’s message to that particular day….start of the week, middle of the week, end of the week, weekend, etc. I can see how that can work well. That would be a great place to start.
Thanks, Thanks, Thanks, Jo! You’ve given me GREAT food for thought. I totally appreciate the time you took to listen to the audio clip and then comment about it in such detail. I am grateful for you.
Please don’t hesitate to let me know if any other suggestions come to mind.
I will keep you posted as things unfold.
Super Big Hugs to You!!! Thanks again…….
Love & Smiles,
Penny
